Everybody Oughta Sing A Song is the second solo studio album by Australian pop singer John Farnham (billed then as Johnny Farnham) and was released on EMI Records in November 1968. [1] [2] [3] Its first single,released in July,was the double A-sided,"Jamie"/"I Don't Want To Love You",which peaked at No. 8 on the Go-Set National Singles Charts. [1] [4] The second single,"Rose Coloured Glasses" was released in October and peaked at No. 16. [1] [5] Writers on the album included Hans Poulsen,Neil Diamond and Quincy Jones. The album was re-released in 1974 with a different cover,it shows Farnham performing live on stage,whereas the initial 1968 release had him leaning against a Holden Monaro (see infobox at right).
Johnny Farnham's first commercially successful solo recording was the novelty song entitled "Sadie (The Cleaning Lady)",his manager,Darryl Sambell had disliked it as the lyrics were so persistent. [2] However,EMI's in house producer,David Mackay,insisted and so the single was released in November 1967. "Sadie" hit No. 1 on the Go-Set National Singles Charts in January 1968 and remained there for five weeks. John Peter Farnham AO is a British born Australian singer. Farnham was a teen pop idol from 1967 until 1979,billed then as Johnny Farnham,but has since forged a career as an adult contemporary singer. His career has mostly been as a solo artist,although he replaced Glenn Shorrock as lead singer of Little River Band from 1982 to 1985.
Hans Sven Poulsen is an Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of Danish descent who was popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s,and known for his eccentric hippie style. Poulsen had hits with "Boom Sha La La Lo" and "Light Across the Valley" and had success as a songwriter with "Jamie/Rose Coloured Glasses" for Johnny Farnham and "Monty and Me" for Zoot.

"Before Too Long" is a song by Australian rock group Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls,released as the first single from their debut double album,Gossip. It was released in June 1986 on the original White Label Records,a subsidiary of Mushroom Records. It reached No. 15 on the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart,remaining for 19 weeks. The track was a surprise hit for Kelly at a time when chart success had eluded him and provided increased interest for the release of Gossip,which would become his biggest mainstream success to that date.
Mississippi were an Australian soft rock band (1972–1975),which included Graham Goble on lead vocals and guitar,Beeb Birtles on lead vocals and guitar,and Derek Pellicci on drums. The band had started as Allison Gros in Adelaide in 1970 and moved to Melbourne in 1971 where they recorded as Allison Gros,Drummond and,early in 1972,became Mississippi. As Drummond they issued a cover version of "Daddy Cool",which peaked at No. 1 on the Go-Set National Top 40 for eight weeks. As Mississippi they reached No. 10 with "Kings of the World". In early 1975,with Birtles,Goble and Pellici aboard and the addition of Glenn Shorrock,the group were renamed,Little River Band.

The Fifth Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards was held on 25 March 1991 at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre in Sydney. International host Bob Geldof was assisted by presenters to distribute 24 awards. There were live performances but the awards were not televised and the ceremony was noted for its three-hours plus length with Gary Morris,manager of Midnight Oil providing a 20-minute acceptance speech.
