Evitskog is a village of approximately 600 inhabitants in Kirkkonummi municipality. It is situated in western Uusimaa region, southern Finland, just outside the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Distance to Helsinki is 30 km, and to Kirkkonummi town center 15 km. Nearest shops and local services are in Lapinkylä, roughly 6 km away.

The voluntary fire brigade, Evitskog FBK, was founded 1931, and it is the oldest voluntary fire brigade in Kirkkonummi. [1] The red fire brigade building is the landmark for Evitskog.

In 1970s the trade union TVK built a course center for its members in Evitskog. The building was later changed to housing unit for foreign guest workers especially from Estonia. [2] In August 2015 an asylum seekers' centre moved to the location. It provides accommodation for 260 people. [3]

Singer-songwriter Paradise Oskar is from Evitskog. [4]

Länsiväylä

Länsiväylä is a motorway in the Greater Helsinki area of Finland, mainly at the Helsinki conurbation. It is part of the Finnish national road 51. The road begins in Ruoholahti in western Helsinki and continues west through the island of Lauttasaari and then across the city border to Espoo. The Länsiväylä road continues all the way throughout the southern part of Espoo. It continues as a motorway until finally crossing the border west to Kirkkonummi.

Tolsa railway station is a railway halt on the Helsinki commuter rail network located in the town of Kirkkonummi, Finland, between the Jorvas and Kirkkonummi stations. The station is served by Helsinki commuter rail lines U and L. The westbound trains to Kirkkonummi stop at track 1 and the eastbound trains to Helsinki use the track 2. Some trains to Kirkkonummi, however, use the track 2, if they are meant to arrive on tracks 2 or 3 at the Kirkkonummi station.

Luoma railway station

Luoma (Finnish) or Bobäck (Swedish) was a station on the VR commuter rail network located in Kirkkonummi, Finland, between the stations of Mankki and Masala. The station had two tracks, with track one serving trains towards Kirkkonummi and track two towards Helsinki. The station was opened in 1932, then named as Nokka. In that time, there was another station named Luoma, located about a kilometer more towards Helsinki. The station was out of use between 1944 and 1956, as the Porkkala Cape served as a Soviet military base and the frontier passed through the station. When the original Luoma station was abolished in 1978, the Nokka station was renamed as Luoma. Because of very low number of passengers, the station was closed a day after neighbouring station Mankki on 27 March 2016.

Munkkivuori Helsinki Subdivision in Uusimaa, Finland

Munkkivuori is a quarter of the Munkkiniemi neighbourhood in Helsinki. The buildings and the plan of site are typical of the late 1950s. Most of the residential buildings in Munkkivuori are within a loop formed by Ulvilantie ring road. The automotive traffic to the residential buildings is routed along Ulvilantie whereas Raumantie no through road terminating in the center of the Ulvilantie loop provides access to public services and limits the through-traffic in residential areas. A designed network of crushed stone walkways provides easy accessibility around Munkkivuori for cyclists, pedestrians and other non-automotive traffic.

Helsinki University Observatory Observatory

Helsinki University Observatory housed the Department of Astronomy at the University of Helsinki, south Finland until end of 2009. It is now an astronomy-themed visitor centre and museum.

The water bodies of the village are south of lake Poikkipuoliainen, the north of lake Huhmarjärvi, the south of lake Kaitlampi, Ruuhilampi, Kurjolampi and Tervalampi, from which the village got its name.

Veikkola is a village in Kirkkonummi municipality in Uusimaa, Finland. It is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of the municipal center along the Helsinki–Turku Highway (E18), near the border of Vihti. The regional road 110 also passes through the village. Veikkola has almost 6,000 inhabitants. Near Veikkola is the Nuuksio National Park.

Kantvik is a village in Kirkkonummi municipality in Uusimaa, Finland. It is located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of the municipal center towards Upinniemi. Nearby services include a primary school and a Sale grocery store. There is a bus connection from Kantvik to the center of Kirkkonummi, such as lines 172, 173 and 904.
