The Exeed Sterra ET is a battery-powered and range extended battery-electric mid-size luxury crossover SUV manufactured by Chinese automobile manufacturer Exeed, a premium brand of Chery. The Exeed Sterra ET was first unveiled in April 2023 during the Shanghai Auto Show and was officially launched in China in the third quarter of 2024. [1]
The Exeed Sterra ET is Exeed's second product in its Sterra lineup after the Sterra ES sedan. It is available as variants with the conventional 400V platform, as well as variants using the higher voltage 800V platform. The Exeed Sterra ET pure electric variants are equipped with CATL supplied lithium iron phosphate Shenxing battery packs with capacities of 77 kWh and 100 kWh, offering CLTC[ clarification needed ] range options of 540 km, 625 km, 655 km and 760 km respectively. [2] The extended-range electric vehicle variants offers three trim levels and the rear wheel drive models are powered by a rear electric motor and a 1.5 liter turbo range-extender engine, powering with a 32 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack from CATL. The rear electric motor develops 195 kW and 324 Nm while the engine produces 115 kW and 220 Nm. The 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time of the Exeed Sterra ET is 7.8 seconds and the top speed is 180 km/h. [3] The four wheel drive models of the Exeed Sterra ET extended-range electric vehicle is powered by a 1.5 liter turbo range-extender engine paired with a dual electric motor setup. The vehicle boasts a 0-100 km/h acceleration time in just 4.8 seconds. The Snow Leopard 4WD system of the Exeed Sterra ET extended-range electric vehicle also ensures precise electronic slip control with a response time under 0.05 seconds. The four wheel drive Exeed Sterra ET extended-range electric vehicle’s combined range is 1500 km, with an all-electric CLTC range of 240 km. [4]
The interior of the Sterra ET is equipped with a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen, a 10.25-inch floating liquid crystal display instrument panel, and a D-shaped steering wheel. The onboard infotainment system uses the Lion AI model. in terms of advanced driver-assistance system. The Sterra ET is based on Chery's latest EEA[ clarification needed ] 5.0 and features an all-domain SOA[ clarification needed ] with advanced intelligent driving functions and a cutting-edge intelligent cockpit 6.0 system. The Sterra ET uses 30 high-performance sensors and Nvidia Drive Orin chip with up to 508 TOPS computing power. [5]
The Exeed Sterra ET has been developed using the same platform as the Exeed Sterra ES, for this reason, the wheelbase of both cars are the same. Specifically, the Exeed Sterra ET aims to compete directly against models such as the Tesla Model Y, the Nio ES7 and the XPeng G9. It can be seen as the flagship medium- to large- sized luxury SUV. It is similar in price to Tesla Model Y, but slightly larger in size. [6]
