Expecting Amy is an American documentary miniseries directed by Alexander Hammer that follows Amy Schumer through her pregnancy and hyperemesis gravidarum, [1] including the creation of her stand-up special Amy Schumer: Growing . Production

In October 2019, it was announced Amy Schumer would serve as executive producer and appear with her husband Chris Fischer in a documentary about her pregnancy, life, and career, directed by Alexander Hammer for HBO Max. [3] Bridget Everett, Rachel Feinstein, Kevin Kane and Kim Caramele would also appear. [4]

Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is a pregnancy complication that is characterized by severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and possibly dehydration. Feeling faint may also occur. It is considered more severe than morning sickness. Symptoms often get better after the 20th week of pregnancy but may last the entire pregnancy duration.
