Reception

Critical reception

Common Sense Media rated the show at 4/5 stars, stating that "The silliness will draw kids in, but parents will appreciate all the great stuff secretly woven through each episode." [36]

Mashable also gave a favorable review, writing that it had "perfect balance between the soft, safe world of children's programming and the deadpan absurdism of emotional exhaustion — y'know, but with mushrooms. And dinosaurs. And, oh yeah, that talking stump." [37]

A website of ScoopsAnimationCorner.com gave a score of 5/10 and wrote that the show "doesn’t have that kind of adult-tinged humor I was hoping for, the show is a great experiment in animation." And also she argued that she "did not like the humor in this show. That isn’t to say, the show isn’t funny. It’s just not my particular brand of humor. I can see and understand why other people would find this show funny, especially kids." Since there's "a lot of juvenile butt jokes and shenanigans." which It’s NOT her style of humor. And that the "show is a little heavy on morals. It’s mostly Seth who learns the lessons – but since this is episodic, they don’t exactly stick." And at the end she said that she "hopes that the future for the show will be good because even while I have my issues with the show – I think the spirit of the show will be good for a lot of people and inspire a lot of young animators with its colors and easy to replicate art style."
