The American University of Europe - FON (AUE - FON) is a private university with headquarters in Skopje, North Macedonia. It is the second private university established in North Macedonia after the liberalization of the High education law's in 2002. [2]

The Socialist Republic of Macedonia, or SR Macedonia, commonly referred to as Socialist Macedonia, Yugoslav Macedonia or simply Macedonia, was one of the six constituent republics of the post-World War II Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and a nation state of the Macedonians. After the transition of the political system to parliamentary democracy in 1990, the Republic changed its official name to Republic of Macedonia in 1991, and with the beginning of the breakup of Yugoslavia, it declared itself an independent country and held a referendum on 8 September 1991 on which a sovereign and independent state of Macedonia, with a right to enter into any alliance with sovereign states of Yugoslavia was approved.

The Saints Cyril and Methodius University is a public research university in Skopje, North Macedonia. It is the oldest and largest public university in the country. It is named after the Byzantine Christian theologians and missionaries Cyril and Methodius. As of 2018–19 school year, a total of 25,220 students are enrolled at the university. Furthermore, the teaching and research staff number 2,390 people; this is further supported by over 300 members in the university's institutions.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">State University of Tetova</span> Building

The State University of Tetova is a public university in North Macedonia. The university was established on 17 December 1994 as the first Albanian language higher education institution in Macedonia, though not recognized as a state university by the national government until January 2004. Courses and lectures are held in Albanian, Macedonian and English. As of 2018–19 school year, a total of 7,097 students are enrolled at the university.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">St. Clement of Ohrid University of Bitola</span>

The University St. Kliment Ohridski in Bitola is a public university in North Macedonia. Headquartered in Bitola, it also has faculties in Prilep, Ohrid, Veles, Kichevo and Skopje. It was founded on 25 April 1979, but the name of St. Clement of Ohrid was not given until late 1994. As of 2018–19 school year, a total of 4,139 students are enrolled at the university.

Džordže Arsov is a former mayor of the municipality of Kisela Voda. He was born in 1946 in Strumica, then in SFR Yugoslavia. He finished primary and secondary education in his home town and completed his graduate studies in Skopje. In 1970, he graduated with honors from the faculty of mechanical engineering, St.Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje and started to work as a professor at the high school ASUC in Skopje. After four years at ASUC and as a deputy director of the school, he left and started to work in the newly established trading and marketing department of the Metalski Zavod Tito (MZT). Under his management, the department became a leader in its sector and became its own independent organization MZT Commerce, employing approximately 140 people and responsible for over 90% of the revenues of MZT. This trading and marketing organization became an initiator for association of all commercial services of MZT in the process opening many offices in former Yugoslavia as well as in Moscow, Sofia, Frankfurt, Berlin, New York, and 12 other places around the world. MZT Commerce, under Arsov's leadership, also became an exclusive representative of many firms from former Yugoslavia for the Western European, U.S., and Middle Eastern markets. Arsov was the President and managing director of the MZT Commerce until 1991.

"Vo ime na ljubovta" is a song by Tamara Todevska, Vrčak and Adrian Gaxha, who competed with it at Skopje Fest 2008. The song won, having been awarded the most televotes by the general public and the 7-member expert jury, and an English-language version represented Macedonia at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Serbia, on 22 May 2008.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in North Macedonia face legal and social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Both male and female same-sex sexual activity have been legal in North Macedonia since 1996, but same-sex couples and households headed by same-sex couples are not eligible for the same legal protections available to opposite-sex married couples.

The 2019–20 Macedonian First League was the 28th season of the Macedonian First Football League, the highest football league of North Macedonia. It began on 11 August 2019 and was scheduled to be end in July 2020. Each team will play the other sides four times on home-away basis, for a total of 36 matches. Shkëndija are the defending champions, having won their third title in 2018–19.

The 2019–20 Macedonian First League is the 28th season of the Macedonian First League, with 10 teams participating in it. MZT Skopje Aerodrom are the defending champions.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Dimitar Kovačevski</span> Prime Minister of North Macedonia

Dimitar Kovačevski is a Macedonian politician and economist serving as prime minister of North Macedonia since 16 January 2022. A member of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), Kovačevski previously served as deputy finance minister from 2020 until his appointment as prime minister in 2022 after the resignation of the previous prime minister.

Elizabeta Gjorgievska is a Macedonian physician who is the wife of the fifth President Stevo Pendarovski and First Lady of North Macedonia since 2019.
