Falling Off the Sky received generally favorable reviews from critics; according to review aggregator website Metacritic, it has a score of 73 out of 100 based on 17 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". [2] Among the most favorable reviews was one written by Robert Christgau, who gave the album an A−. In his review, Christgau described the lead track, "That Time Is Gone", as "as rousing as anything in their [Holsapple and Stamey's] book." [4] A more mixed review by Stephen Deusner stated that on the album, the dB's "don't redefine themselves as defiantly as they once did". [6]

Lifes Rich Pageant is the fourth studio album by the American alternative rock band R.E.M., released on July 28, 1986. R.E.M. chose Don Gehman to produce the album, which was recorded at John Mellencamp's Belmont Mall Studio in Belmont, Indiana. This was the only album the band recorded with Gehman, who moved them from the more obscure and dense sound of their earlier albums to an accessible, hard rock-influenced quality. The lyrics in the piano ballad describe a middle-aged woman's recollection of an unrequited love for her teacher. The song explores gender and sexuality, and its music has been compared to work by Philip Glass.
Killers and Stars is the first solo album by Drive-By Truckers frontman Patterson Hood. It was released on May 4, 2004 on New West Records. It was originally not intended for commercial release, and limited editions of it were sold at shows before it was officially released in 2004.
