Umaru Nagwamatse dan Abu Bakr Atiku was the founder and the first ruler of the Kontagora Emirate. He was the grandson of Usman dan Fodio and the son of the third sultan of the Sokoto Caliphate, Sultan Abu Bakr Atiku.

Maria Sanda Zukogi is a Nigerian judge who was the fifth Chief Judge of Niger State and the second female to hold the office since its creation in 1976. Her appointment as substantive chief Judge of Niger State by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello was confirmed by the Niger State House of Assembly in August 2016 after holding the office in acting capacity for three months. She succeeded the first female chief judge of the state Hon. Justice Fati Lami Abubakar after her retirement from service.

She is the current President of the International Association of Women Judges and has previously served as the President of the Nigeria's National Association of Women Judges. She served as the chief judge of Bauchi State from 2014 to 2017, becoming the first woman to hold this position in the state and the first woman to lead a high court bench in Nigeria.
