Federal University of Health Science, Azare (FUHSA) is a public university located at north eastern Nigeria. The university was established in 2021 with 760 pioneer student for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 merged academic sessions. [1]

The university is located in Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Nigeria; [2] founded under the administration of Muhammadu Buhari as one of the eleven new Federal Universities Established by Buhari's Administration across the six geo-political zones. The region is made up of fertile river areas of (matanfada, mala with much irrigation and orchards. The majority of inhabitants are fishermen who are practitioners of Isla religion. They also have Kanta Museum. The Museum is the main historical centre in Argungu for visitors across the globe. People from around the world travel to Argungu just to witness the occasion. The main purpose of the Argungu fishing festival is for fishing and unity. The festival is usually a 4-days cultural event.

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) is a public research university located in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. It was opened in 1962 as the University of Northern Nigeria. The university has four colleges, three schools, 18 faculties, 110 academic departments, 17 centres, and seven institutes with over 600 professors, about 3000 academic staff and over 7000 non-teaching staff. The university has over 400 postgraduate programmes reflecting its strife to become a postgraduate studies-centred university. Federal Medical Centre, Azare, is a medical centre owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It is located along Amb. Ahmed Abdullah Road in Azare, Katagum, Bauchi State, Nigeria. The center was opened to commence operation in 2001. The medical centre is an agency under the federal ministry of health. It marked its 20th anniversary on March 17, 2022.
