The Federal University of Southern Bahia [1] ( Portuguese : Universidade Federal do Sul da Bahia, UFSB) is a public institution of higher education in Brazil.
UFSB was created by law 12.818/2013, signed by the president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff. [2] It started academic activities in September 2014. UFSB has 1610 students enrroled. [3]
UFSB has three campuses:
The curricular organization in Cycles considers steps and stages of learning and development. The Cycle System offers forms to students to gain more independence on their course, with diversity and autonomy on their own curriculum. The Cycles ensures a better preparation, in function of a progressive conception of learning. In addition, the Cycles architecture puts UFSB in compatibility with organization forms used worldwide. The formation cycle at UFSB is configured this manner:
First Cycle: Interdisciplinary Bachelors (BI) and Interdisciplinary Licenciate (LI).
Second Cycle: Professional and academic graduation.
Third Cycle: including medical residency, master and doctorate degrees, among other credits.
The Fluminense Federal University is a Brazilian public higher education institution located mainly in Niterói and in other cities of Rio de Janeiro state. It was first established on December 18, 1960, with the name of Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UFERJ), through an integration of different academic colleges in the city of Niterói. On November 5, 1965, the current name became official.

The University for International Integration of the Afro-Brazilian Lusophony is a public federal university located in Redenção, Ceará, Brazil. The city was chosen because it was the first Brazilian city to abolish slavery. The major courses offered are preferentially the ones included in the mutual interest of all countries in the Community of Portuguese Language Countries. They are: Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe, Mozambique, Portugal and East Timor. Looking for international integration, 50% of the seats in the university are for international students from those countries.
Universidade Estadual do Maranhão is a public state university in the state of Maranhão, Brazil. It was founded on Dezember 30, 1981, and is based in São Luís. In addition to the Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA), it was the second university in the state. In September 2016, part of it was dismembered for creation of a third, the newly founded Universidade Estadual da Região Tocantina do Maranhão (UEMASUL). With more than 20 thousand students, the institution has 22 campuses and 25 university centers. In the university ranking, it ranks 157th in Brazil. The university rector is Walter Canales Sant' Ana.
