Felix Gottwald (born 13 January 1976 in Zell am See, Austria, now resides in Salzburg, Austria) is an AustrianNordic combined athlete who competed from 1994 to 2007 and then returned to compete in 2009. He is 5 ft 10 in (178 cm), weighing 150 lb(10 st 10 lb; 68 kg).
Gottwald made his Olympic debut as an 18-year-old in the 15km individual event at the 1994 Winter Olympics, then competed in the 4 x 5km team and 15km individual events at the 1998 Winter Olympics. Gottwald won bronze medals in the 7.5km sprint, 15km individual and 4 x 5km team Nordic combined events at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Coming into the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, he had regularly ranked among the top three in the world. He won golds in the 7.5km sprint and 4 x 5km team competitions, and took silver in the 15km individual. At the 2010 Winter Olympics, Gottwald won gold in the 4 x 5km team event. He is the most decorated Nordic combined skier at the Winter Olympics with seven medals.
Gottwald topped the World Cup standings in 2001, and was a member of the Austrian team that won gold at the 2003 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. Eight years later, at the 2011 World Championships in Oslo, he was again part of the Austrian team that became team world champion both in the normal hill and in the large hill competition. He also has two silvers (4 x 5km team: 2001, 15km individual: 2003) and six bronzes (15km individual: 2001, 2005, 7.5km sprint: 2003, normal hill: 2011, 4 x 5km team: 1997, 2005) from the World Championships. So he is also the most decorated Nordic combined skier at World Championships with eleven medals.
Gottwald retired at the end of the 2006-07 World Cup.[1] He chose to return from retirement in May 2009, in order to compete in another season, including the Olympics. Prior to that he was working for an Austrian television network as a color commentator.[2]
After the Olympic season he added another one, and with his victories in Kuusamo (27 November 2010) and Schonach (8 January 2011) he became the oldest winner of a nordic combined competition.
Trond Einar Elden is a Norwegian former Nordic combined skier who represented Namdalseid I.L. in Trondheim. He competed at three Winter Olympics.

Bjarte Engen Vik is a Norwegian former nordic combined athlete. He won the FIS World Cup overall twice, in 1997/98 and 1998/99 with a total of 24 wins. He also has eight medals from the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with five golds, and three silvers. He also won a bronze medal in the Norwegian championship in ski jumping. His consecutive wins in the Individual Gundersen at the Nordic skiing World Championships in 1999 and 2001 were the first since Oddbjørn Hagen did it in 1934 and 1935.
Mario Stecher is an Austrian former Nordic combined skier. Competing in six Winter Olympics, he won three medals in the 4 x 5 km team event with two golds and a bronze (2002). Stecher's best individual finish was fifth in the 10 km individual normal hill event at Vancouver in 2010.
Björn Kircheisen is a German former nordic combined skier. He won four 4 x 5 km team medals at the Winter Olympics with three silvers and a bronze (2010).
Hannu Kalevi Manninen is a Finnish nordic combined athlete. Debuting at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer at the age of 15, he took his first medal three years later at the age of 18 when he won silver in the 4 × 5 km team event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. At the 2002 Winter Olympics, he won a gold medal in the 4 × 5 km team event at the age of 23. He has five other Nordic skiing World Championships medals, earning three golds and two bronzes. He has two other Olympic team medals as well.

Fabrice Guy is a former French nordic combined skier who competed during the 1990s. At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville he won gold in the 15 km individual, then won a bronze in the 4 x 5 km team competition at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. He also has two medals from the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with a silver medal in the 3 x 10 km team event in 1991 and a bronze medal in the 15 km individual event in 1997.
Oddbjørn Hagen was a Norwegian skier who competed in nordic combined and cross-country skiing. He was both Olympic and World champion.
Petter Laukslett Tande is a Norwegian former nordic combined skier who has been competing between 2002 and 2011, representing Byåsen IL. He has three medals in the 4 x 5 km team event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, with a gold (2005) and two bronzes.
Hermann Weinbuch is a former West German nordic combined skier who won four medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships during the 1980s. In 1985, he won the 15 km individual and 3 x 10 km team gold medals, then followed it up two years later with two more medals.

Kerry Joel Lynch is an American former nordic combined skier who competed from 1979 to 1987. He is best known for his doping scandal at the 1987 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, West Germany in which he and his coach Jim Page approved a plan to give Lynch an illegal transfusion to increase his red blood cell count. Lynch would finish second in the 15 km individual event behind Norway's Torbjørn Løkken, only to be stripped of his medal when he and Page confessed to the scandal. Lynch would serve a two-year suspension as a result and was prohibited from participating in the 1988 Winter Olympics. He is the only Nordic combined athlete to ever been stripped of a medal either in the Winter Olympics or in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The United States would not win a Nordic combined medal at the Nordic skiing World Championships until Johnny Spillane's gold medal in the 7.5 km sprint event at Val di Fiemme in 2003.
