Fenton Lee Bland Jr. (born March 7,1962) is an American mortician and former Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Successful in his first bid for office in 2001,he was subsequently reelected.
But he resigned in 2005 after pleading guilty to the crime of conspiracy to commit bank fraud which included bilking an elderly man of property and committing forgery to do so. Republican businessman Glenn Youngkin won the party's nomination at the party's May 8 convention,which was held in 37 polling locations across the state,and was officially declared the nominee on May 10. The Democratic Party held its primary election on June 8,which former Governor Terry McAuliffe easily won. In the general election,Youngkin defeated McAuliffe,50.6%-48.6%,to become the 74th Governor of Virginia. Youngkin's win was seen as an upset because McAuliffe led polls until the closing weeks of the campaign. The economy,education,public health,and cultural issues were centerpieces of Youngkin's campaign. Youngkin promised to ban the teaching of critical race theory within state schools on "day one",push back against certain COVID-19 mandates and restrictions,and advocate for small government within the state of Virginia.

Derrick Evans is an American politician and convicted felon. He served as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates for the 19th district from December 1,2020,to January 9,2021. Evans participated in the 2021 United States Capitol attack,an action for which he was criminally charged. He was arrested on January 8,2021,and resigned from the House of Delegates the next day. On March 18,2022,he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of civil disorder and was sentenced to 90 days in prison in June 2022.
Reta Phyllis Mays is an American convicted serial killer who murdered at least seven elderly military veterans over a span of eleven months,between July 2017 and June 2018,by injecting them with lethal doses of insulin while she was employed as a nursing assistant at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Medical Center,in Clarksburg,West Virginia. On May 11,2021,Mays was sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences for the murders,plus 20 years for one count of assault with intent to commit murder.
