Field hockey at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing was held over a fourteen-day period beginning on 10 August, culminating with the medal finals on 22 and 23 August. All games were played at the hockey field constructed on the Olympic Green.

The 1975 Hockey World Cup was the third edition of the Hockey World Cup men's field hockey tournament. It was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup was the 14th edition of the Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the FIH. It was held from 28 November to 16 December 2018, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India. The inauguration ceremony which was held on 27 November 2018, witnessed the biggest ever drone flying show in India.

The 2017 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship was the 16th edition of the Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the EHF. It was held from 19 to 27 August 2017 in the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. The tournament also served as a qualifier for the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup, with the winner qualifying.

The 2019 Women's EuroHockey Championship was the 14th edition of the Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international women's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation.

The 2019 Men's FIH Pro League was the first season of the Pro League, the premier men's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in January 2019 and finished in June 2019 in Amstelveen, Netherlands.

The 2022 Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup is the ninth edition of the Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, the biennial women's under-21 field hockey world championship organized by the International Hockey Federation.

The 2013 Men's International Super Series Hockey 9's was the third and final edition of the men's field hockey tournament. The tournament was held at the Perth Hockey Stadium between 17–20 October 2013 in Perth, Australia. A total of four teams competed for the title.
