Initial pre-release feedback of the game was mixed due to the fact that Mighty Rocket Studio originally intended the game as a reboot of the survival horror game Obscure . The negative feedback caused the developer to change the name of the game to Final Exam. [9]
Upon full release, the game received "mixed or average reviews" on all platforms according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. [1] [2] [3] Matt Beaudette of Hardcore Gamer said of the game, "There are better options available for those simply looking for a cheap sidescroller to play once and forget about. Those who can get invested in learning and mastering a deep combat system, however, will find a lot to like in Final Exam" [10] Smooth Town wrote, "This is a fine starting point for whatever future holds for the Obscure franchise"; however, they noted the problems with repetitiveness and cheap boss fights. Obscure is a survival horror video game developed by Hydravision Entertainment and published by DreamCatcher Interactive in North America, Ubisoft in China and MC2-Microïds in other territories for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It was released on October 1, 2004 in Europe and on April 6, 2005 in North America.

Grand Theft Auto V is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the seventh main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, following 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV, and the fifteenth instalment overall. Set within the fictional state of San Andreas, based on Southern California, the single-player story follows three protagonists—retired bank robber Michael De Santa, street gangster Franklin Clinton, and drug dealer and gunrunner Trevor Philips, and their attempts to commit heists while under pressure from a corrupt government agency and powerful criminals. Players freely roam San Andreas's open world countryside and fictional city of Los Santos, based on Los Angeles.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is a 2012 action adventure hack and slash game developed by Team Ninja and published by Nintendo. It was released for the Wii U from November 2012 to May 2013, and subsequently released by Tecmo Koei for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in April 2013. It is an enhanced port of Ninja Gaiden 3 that includes all downloadable content from the original title, as well as additional enhancements made to improve the game. The game can be considered an equivalent to the Ninja Gaiden Sigma games, as it makes several changes to the original title.
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is an action role-playing video game developed and published by NeocoreGames. It was released on 22 May 2013. Based on the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, the game focuses on the trials of young Van Helsing, son of the legendary vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing from the book. The game is set in a gothic-noir 19th-century Eastern Europe and contains "intentionally anachronistic humor and gadgetry". A sequel, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II, was released on 22 May 2014. A second sequel, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III, was released on 22 May 2015.
Earth Defense Force 2025 is a third-person shooter developed by Sandlot and published by D3 Publisher, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is the follow-up to Earth Defense Force 2017. A remastered version, titled Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair, was released for PlayStation 4 and Windows in 2016, which includes the original game as well as a new expansion. A Nintendo Switch version was released in Japan in December 2022. A reboot titled Earth Defense Force 5 was released on December 7, 2017.
Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know! is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by WayForward Technologies and published by D3 Publisher in North America and in PAL regions by Namco Bandai Games for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U. It is the second game based on the animated television series Adventure Time, following Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!! (2012).
