Sonar Kella, also Shonar Kella, is a 1971 mystery novel written by Bengali writer and filmmaker Satyajit Ray. In 1974, Ray directed a film adaption of the book, also named Sonar Kella, starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Santosh Dutta, Siddartha Chatterjee and Kushal Chakraborty. The movie was released in the United States as The Golden Fortress. It is the first film adaptation of Ray's famous sleuth Feluda and was followed by Joi Baba Felunath.

The great sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar inaugurated the faculty of Indian Music & Dance during the year 1975.

The magazine was started on 25 January 1975 and the awards ceremony was started in 1998.

Guru: Amake Sobai jaane or simply Guru is a 2003 Indian Bengali-language gangster action thriller film co-written and directed by Swapan Saha. Produced by Nispal Singh under the banner of Surinder Films, it stars Mithun Chakraborty in the titular role, alongside an ensemble cast consisting of Jisshu Sengupta, Rachna Banerjee, Kaushik Banerjee, Laboni Sarkar, Kharaj Mukherjee, Locket Chatterjee and Kalyani Mondal in another pivotal roles, with Tapas Paul and Subhendu Chatterjee in guest appearances. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Babul Bose, while background score was by S. P. Venkatesh. It revolves around a middle-class rickshaw driver of Kolkata named Raja, who always believes in non-violence and keeps himself away from any troubled situation. But all on a sudden to save his family from a notorious criminal named Kedarnath, he has to reveal his true identity from past, that of a dreaded gangster named Guru, which was hidden to his family as well as people of the area, to whom he was known to be a normal and frightened person.

Wanted is a 2010 Indian Bengali language neo-noir action thriller film directed by Ravi Kinagi. Produced by Ashok Dhanuka under the banner of Eskay Movies, it stars Jeet and Srabanti Chatterjee in the lead roles, while Sharad Kapoor, Biswajit Chakraborty, Kharaj Mukherjee and Kaushik Banerjee play other pivotal roles. The screenplay and dialogues of the film were written by Ananyo Mamun and Poulomi Bhowmik respectively, with the soundtrack and background score composed by Rajesh Roy. The action sequences were designed by fight master Judo Ramu. The film follows Rajkumar aka Raja, a sharpshooter from Kolkata who is falsely accused of killing a renowned minister Amarnath Ganguly. To stay away from the police, Raja hides in the house of Shibu under the identity of the former who died in a police attack in front of him, at Ganganagar. At last, Raja looks into the real incident and seeks out of revenge for all that happened to him. It is a remake of 2005 Telugu movie Athadu.

This title was inspired from song Ki Kore Toke Bolbo from the film Rangbaaz, sung by Arijit Singh. The film stars Ankush Hazra and Mimi Chakraborty. The actors Mimi and Ankush paired for the first time in this movie. The movie was a remake of 2007 Kannada movie Milana but the premise and the core story line had similarities with another Bengali movie which had released four months before - Shudhu Tomari Jonyo. This was because Shudhu Tomari Jonyo was a remake of the 2013 Tamil movie Raja Rani which was an unofficial adaptation of the 2007 Kannada movie Milana.
