Critical reception

"Fire" was met with generally mixed reviews and was met with criticism due to its pop tones. Rockstar Weekly stated that "Fire" it's "more radio friendly than anything". [1] Loud Wire said that "has a hip-shaking drum beat has a tinge of a dancy feel without losing its edginess. Scabbia sings the very appealing chorus “Let the fire enter / Let the anger start to brew / Let your instincts break the rules / Let it rise and consume / Give into yourself.” Its poetic rhythm and upbeat drum pattern makes the song that more enjoyable". [2]

The music video for "Fire" was filmed on 10 May 2012 and directed by Brendan Kyle Cochrane. The video was shot in Brooklyn's The Red Hook Grain Terminal at the same place where Martin Scorsese filmed a scene for The Departed . [3]

According to the Italian magazine Panorama , [4] the music video for "Fire", directed by Brendan Kyle Cochrane, will never be released. A frame from the music video, showing Cristina Scabbia, appeared on the official website of the production company of the video.

An editor's cut version of the video was leaked on Vimeo on 29 September 2013.

A 2016 interview with Scabbia revealed that the band had opposed releasing the video due to concerns they were showing visual signs of fatigue after four months of touring, but relented after the video had leaked. [5]

Cristina Adriana Chiara Scabbia is an Italian singer and songwriter, best known as one of the two vocalists of gothic metal band Lacuna Coil. She used to write an advice column in the popular rock magazine Revolver, alongside musician Vinnie Paul. Scabbia is featured in a Megadeth song "À Tout le Monde ". She also featured on "The Theory of Everything", an album from Arjen Anthony Lucassen's Ayreon project, with which she is cast as the Mother. She is also the featured artist in the Apocalyptica song "S.O.S. " and another version of the Alter Bridge song "Watch Over You". Scabbia performed a duet with the Italian ex-singer of Linea 77 Emiliano Audisio on the track "Beautiful Lie" to be part of the soundtrack for the 2013 Italian film Passione sinistra.

Comalies is the third studio album by Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil, released on 29 October 2002 through Century Media Records. According to lead singer Cristina Scabbia, "[During the album's recording], we had a sort of creative explosion. We were working in a coma, sort of like in a different dimension. First of all we just wanted to use the word 'coma' but there was something missing so we played with the two words coma and lies." Comalies peaked at #178 on the Billboard 200 and Peaked at #9 on the Top Heatseekers and Independent Albums charts. The outline of the shape from the cover of the band's previous album Unleashed Memories (2001) is faintly visible on top of the sunflower. The album has gone on to sell over 300,000 copies in the United States as of January 2012.

"A Tout le Monde" is a song by American heavy metal band Megadeth, featured on their 1994 studio album Youthanasia. It was released as a single in February 1995 through Capitol Records. The song was later remade and reissued as "À Tout le Monde ", featuring Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil, on Megadeth's 2007 studio album United Abominations. The song's chorus, "à tout le monde, à tous mes amis, je vous aime, je dois partir", translated into English is, "to the whole world, to all my friends, I love you, I have to go", which prompted controversy after accusations that it was pro-suicide.

Black Anima is the ninth studio album by Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil. It was released by Century Media Records on October 11, 2019. Recording took place BRX Studio in Milan, Italy. It is the first album to feature drummer Richard Meiz, also part of Italian symphonic death metal band, Genus Ordinis Dei. On July 15, 2019, previous drummer Ryan Blake Folden announced via Instagram that he did not play on Black Anima, nor would he be touring outside of the US. Richard Meiz was officially announced as the new drummer of Lacuna Coil on the Genus Ordinis Dei Facebook page.
