Fair City is an Irish television soap opera which has been broadcast on RTÉ One since 1989. Produced by the public service broadcaster RTE, it first aired on Monday, 18 September 1989. It has won several awards and is both the most popular and the longest running Irish drama serial.
RTÉ2 is an Irish free-to-air television channel operated by public service broadcaster RTÉ. It was launched on 2 November 1978 as the Republic of Ireland's second television channel, at which point the pre-existing channel was renamed RTÉ 1 . The channel airs content aimed at 16-45 year-olds.

Bernard Brogan is a Gaelic footballer from the St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh club who previously played for the Dublin county team. He is originally from the Battery Heights. From a famous footballing family, he is the son of former All-Ireland winning and All Star player Bernard Brogan Snr and is the brother of former Dublin players Alan and Paul. His uncle Jim was also an inter-county footballer for Dublin. Alongside most of his family, Brogan has attended St. Declan's College on Navan Road.

Dave Coffey is an Irish writer, director and actor. He is a native of Killiney, County Dublin. He wrote and directed both series of Dan & Becs for RTÉ and has also appeared in RTÉ's Bittersweet and the music video for the single "Grace, Don't Wait!" by Irish band The Coronas.
Operation Transformation is a health and fitness programme airing on RTÉ One in Ireland. The show is a cross-media event broadcast via radio, web and television on RTÉ 2fm, RTÉ.ie and RTÉ One since 2008. Prior to this it had been limited to radio but has since expanded onto the web and television. It is comparable to US television show The Biggest Loser.
Desmond Cahill is an Irish sports presenter and commentator with national broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann. From 2009 to 2022, Cahill presented RTÉ television's GAA highlights programme The Sunday Game.
The Great Escape is an Irish television series broadcast on RTÉ One each Tuesday night at 22:15. It follows Irish families who leave Ireland to travel across the world in search of a better life. Two series have thus far been produced, with each series documenting four families who leave Ireland in search of a better life. The series details how they cope in their new surroundings, without any support from friends or family as they set up businesses, develop new careers, meet new friends and overcome cultural differences. Produced by Coco Television, it has thus far featured Irish families who have relocated to such countries as France, South Africa, Spain (thrice), Australia, Austria and Italy. The second series in 2009 was part of a group of programmes dealing with the topic of emigration. Others included Death or Canada, Blood of the Irish and Who Do You Think You Are?.
Kevin Dundon is an Irish celebrity chef, television personality and author, known for being featured on television series such as Guerrilla Gourmet and Heat. He is the author of the book, Full on Irish: Contemporary Creative Cooking and his recipes have been featured in publications such as the Sunday Tribune and Weekend magazine in the Irish Independent. He has also cooked for The Queen and both an Irish and a US president.
Nick Munier is a Maitre d'Hotel and restaurant manager. He is best known in the United Kingdom as the Maitre d'Hotel of ITV's prime-time reality show Hell's Kitchen and in Ireland as co-presenter of MasterChef Ireland. He was also a former co-owner of Pichet restaurant in Dublin's Trinity Lane.
Love/Hate is an Irish crime drama television series, commissioned by RTÉ Television and created by Stuart Carolan. Set in Dublin, the show depicts fictional characters in the city's criminal underworld. The show is mostly filmed in Dublin, with some scenes shot in bordering counties. Since its release, it continued to grow in popularity, with series 3 attracting close to one million viewers on several occasions.
RTÉ One is an Irish free-to-air flagship television channel owned and operated by RTÉ. It is the most-popular and most-watched television channel in the country and was launched as Telefís Éireann on 31 December 1961, it was renamed RTÉ in 1966, and it was renamed as RTÉ 1 upon the launch of RTÉ 2 in 1978. It is funded partly by the government's licence fee; the remainder of the funding is provided by commercial advertising. Because RTÉ is funded partly by the licence fee it shows considerably fewer advertisements than most other channels available in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Dancing with the Stars is an Irish reality television series, airing on RTÉ One, that started on 8 January 2017. It is currently hosted by Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy. The show is based on the original UK version, Strictly Come Dancing, and is part of the Dancing with the Stars franchise. The judging panel currently consists of Arthur Gourounlian, Loraine Barry and Brian Redmond.
Gogglebox Ireland is an Irish reality show, broadcast on Virgin Media One from 22 September 2016 onwards and a co-production between Kite Entertainment in Dublin and Studio Lambert in London. The series is based on the original UK version and features 15 groups of families and friends from around Ireland who react to Irish, British and American television shows broadcast in Ireland. As well as RTÉ, Virgin Media Television and TG4, British channels BBC One, BBC Two and Channel 4 are also available to ROI viewers so these are included in the programmes reviewed along with some broadcast on satellite channels such as Sky One, TLC and MTV.
Patrick Leo Kenny-Gibson is an Irish actor known for his roles in the television series The Tudors (2009), The Passing Bells (2014), The OA (2016–2019), The White Princess (2017), and Shadow and Bone (2023), and the film Tolkien (2019). He was awarded Rising Star at the 2017 IFTAs.
The 2018 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final was the 131st final of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and the culmination of the 2018 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in Gaelic football. The match was played at Croke Park in Dublin on 2 September 2018.
