Flaxton railway station was a railway station on the York to Scarborough Line serving the village of Flaxton, North Yorkshire, England.
It was opened to traffic on 7 July 1845 along with all the other stations on the line. [1] Excluding York it was the seventh busiest station on the line in terms of passenger numbers recording an annual average of 13,502 passengers between 1902 and 1914. Thereafter the passenger numbers varied with totals dropping by 60% to 8,100 in 1926. [2]
The station and all other intermediate stations on the line (barring Malton and Seamer) closed to passengers in September 1930. The closures allowed the LNER to speed up holiday traffic to Scarborough, but the station remained open for goods traffic until August 1964. [3]
The station's level crossing is still extant. A risk assessment carried out in 2012 stated that it carried 34 trains per day with 1,485 vehicles and 297 pedestrians/cyclists using the crossing per day. [4]

The station itself is south of the River Derwent, and is actually in the town of Norton which used to be in the East Riding of Yorkshire, bordering Malton which was in North Riding. Both towns have been in North Yorkshire since 1974.

Rillington railway station was a railway station serving the village of Rillington in North Yorkshire, England and on the York to Scarborough Line. It was also the junction station for the line to Whitby and was opened on 5 July 1845 by the York and North Midland Railway. It closed to normal passenger traffic on 22 September 1930, but was used by special trains until the 1960s. The goods yard was closed on 10 August 1964. The station building has been converted to a private house but the remainder of the station has now been demolished.

It was also the nearest railway station for Wintringham and Scampston, both of which are three miles from the station. Barnoldswick was the only railway station on the Midland Railway's 1-mile-64-chain (2.9 km) long Barnoldswick Branch in the West Riding of Yorkshire in England ; it served the market town of Barnoldswick. The line left the Leeds and Bradford Extension Railway at Barnoldswick Junction 55 chains from Earby. The line through the junction was on a 20-chain radius after which it converged to a single track and ran in a straight but undulating line to Barnoldswick. The passenger train that ran back and forth between Barnoldswick and Earby was known locally as the Barlick Spud or Spudroaster. The real reason for the name is lost in time, but the two versions that were commonly recited are that the original branch locomotive was so small it looked like a portable potato roaster used by a local vendor or that the journey time was the same as that taken to roast a potato in the locomotive's firebox.
The York–Beverley line was a railway line between York, Market Weighton and Beverley in Yorkshire, England. The line was sanctioned in 1846 and the first part, the York to Market Weighton Line opened in 1847. Construction of the second part to Beverley was delayed for 17 years in part by the downfall of George Hudson, and a less favourable financial environment following the collapse of the 1840s railway bubble; the North Eastern Railway revived and completed the scheme in the 1860s; the Market Weighton to Beverley Line opened in 1865.

Instow railway station was a railway station in the village of Instow, North Devon, England, on the Bideford Extension of the North Devon Railway. Opened in November 1855, the station closed to passengers in 1965, but the line remained open for freight until 1982. The signal box has been preserved as a working attraction. The Atlantic Coast Express used to go through the station on its way to Torrington, but it did not call at Instow.

The station was open for only four years before an amalgamation of railway companies, and the re-routing of the trains through Northallerton station, precipitated its closure.
Goldsborough railway station served the village of Goldsborough, North Yorkshire, England from 1850 to 1965 on the Harrogate line. The station was over 13 miles (21 km) west of York railway station, and nearly 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Knaresborough.
