Focus Entertainment (formerly Focus Home Interactive) is a French video game developer and publisher based in Paris, France. Founded in 1996, Focus has published and distributed original titles such as Sherlock Holmes , TrackMania , Runaway , and sports games like Cycling Manager and Virtual Skipper.

History

On 25 June 2010, it was announced that Focus had acquired the Cities XL franchise from now defunct Monte Cristo. [4] In 2012, Focus began working with Giants Software, creator of Farming Simulator . [5] In April 2018, then-CEO Cédric Lagarrigue left the company after 20 years. [6]

In June 2020, the company acquired Deck13 for €7.1 million. [7] In April 2021, Focus also acquired Streum On Studio. [8] In August 2021, the company acquired Dotemu for approximately €38.5 million (US$46 million). [9]

On September 6, 2021, Focus Home Interactive rebranded to Focus Entertainment. [10] In October 2021, Focus acquired Douze Dixiemes. [11]

In February 2022, Focus acquired Leikir Studio, for an undisclosed sum. [12] On September 13, 2022, Focus acquired BlackMill Games. [13]

In April 2023, Focus acquired Dovetail Games. [14]

In April 2024, Focus Entertainment rebranded as PulluP Entertainment with a new logo. [15]

Eidos Interactive Limited was a British video game publisher based in Wimbledon, London. Its games series included Championship Manager (1992), Tomb Raider (1996) and Hitman (2000). Domark was founded by Mark Strachan and Dominic Wheatley in 1984. In 1995, it was acquired by software company Eidos. Ian Livingstone, who held a stake in Domark, became executive chairman of Eidos and held various roles including creative director. Eidos took over U.S. Gold in 1996, which included developer Core Design, and merged its operations including Domark, which created publishing subsidiary Eidos Interactive. The company acquired Crystal Dynamics in 1998, and owned numerous other assets. In 2005, parent Eidos was taken over by games publisher SCi. The combined company, SCi Entertainment Group, which was briefly renamed Eidos, was itself taken over by Square Enix in 2009.

Cyanide SA is a French video game developer based in the Nanterre suburb of Paris. The company was founded in 2000 by Patrick Pligersdorffer, formerly of Ubi Soft. Since 2007, Cyanide operates a second studio, Amusement Cyanide, in Montreal, Canada, and employs a total of 110 staff members as of 2018. Cyanide was acquired by French publisher Bigben Interactive in May 2018.

Deck13 Interactive GmbH is a German video game developer and publisher based in Frankfurt. The company was founded in July 2001 by the team behind Artex Software, a studio that primarily developed video games for RISC OS, such as Ankh: The Tales of Mystery. Originally bearing the name TriggerLab, the company was renamed to Deck13 after the release of its first game, Stealth Combat, in 2002. Deck13 is best known for developing the action role-playing games Lords of the Fallen and The Surge. Deck13 also operates a Hamburg-based subsidiary studio, Deck13 Hamburg.

Devolver Digital, Inc. is an American video game publisher based in Austin, Texas, specializing in the publishing of indie games. The company was founded in June 2009 by Nigel Lowrie, Harry Miller, Graeme Struthers, Rick Stults, and Mike Wilson, five executives who had been involved with Gathering of Developers and Gamecock Media Group, which published games on developer-friendly terms, but due to the high cost associated with releasing retail games saw themselves acquired and dissolved by larger companies.
