Follow for Now is the debut and only studio album by the American rock band Follow for Now, released in 1991.
AllMusic noted that the band may have deserved constant comparisons to Living Colour that it had received from the press, but also noted the influence of Public Enemy and Bad Brains. Critic Rick Anderson concluded that Follow for Now "is a tight, hard, very funky band that stands easily on its own despite obvious influences," and called the album "an auspicious debut." [1] Rolling Stone noted that Follow for Now exhibited "a wide-ranging mastery of rock styles" and found additional influences from Cream, Love, and Anthrax. [2] Another reviewer praised the charismatic vocals of David Ryan Harris and Hendrix-like persona of guitarist Chris Tinsley. [3] The album was also noted for its mix of "R&B, funk, hip hop, a little psychedelia, and a hint of metal." [4]
Reports indicate that producer Matt Sherrod played drums on most of the album and deleted the unconventional drumming of band member Enrique. [5] The album includes a cover of "She Watch Channel Zero?!" by Public Enemy. Follow for Now split before they could record a follow-up to this debut album. [4]
The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 1988 by frontman and guitarist Billy Corgan, bassist D'arcy Wretzky, guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, the band has undergone several line-up changes since their reunion in 2006, with Corgan being the sole constant member since its inception. The current lineup features Corgan, Chamberlin, Iha and guitarist Jeff Schroeder.
24-7 Spyz are an American rock band from the South Bronx, New York, formed in 1986, originally consisting of Jimi Hazel (guitars), Rick Skatore (bass), Kindu Phibes (drums), and P. Fluid (vocals). The band plays hard rock, heavy metal, funk metal and rap metal songs which incorporate elements of jazz, R&B, soul, reggae and hardcore punk. The fact that they are African Americans playing variations of heavy metal led critics to compare them to bands such as Living Colour and Bad Brains. After several lineup changes, the band broke up in 1998, but reformed in 2003 before releasing their first new album of original material in over a decade in 2006. As of 2021, the lineup of the band includes Hazel, Skatore, and drummer Tobias Ralph.
Crazy Town is an American rap rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1995 by Bret Mazur and Shifty Shellshock. Crazy Town is best known for their 2000 hit single "Butterfly", which reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and helped their debut album, The Gift of Game (1999), sell over 1.6 million units. Their follow-up album, Darkhorse (2002), failed to achieve the same level of success, contributing to the band's breakup in 2003. Mazur and Binzer reformed the band in 2007 and released their third album, The Brimstone Sluggers, in 2015. In 2017, Mazur left the band and Binzer changed the name of the band to Crazy Town X.
Neurosis is an American post-metal band from Oakland, California. It was formed in 1985 by guitarist Scott Kelly, bassist Dave Edwardson, and drummer Jason Roeder, initially as a hardcore punk band. Chad Salter joined as a second guitarist and appeared on the band's 1987 debut Pain of Mind and then Steve Von Till replaced him in 1989. The following year, the lineup further expanded to include a keyboardist and a visual artist. Beginning with their third album Souls at Zero (1992), Neurosis transformed their hardcore sound by incorporating diverse influences including doom metal and industrial music, becoming a major force in the emergence of the post-metal and sludge metal genres.
Lit is an American rock band formed in 1988 in Orange County, California. They have released seven studio albums, but are best known for their 1999 album A Place in the Sun, which featured the hit single "My Own Worst Enemy". "Zip-Lock" and "Miserable" were also successful, leading to a platinum certification for A Place in the Sun.

Contradictions Collapse is the debut studio album by Swedish extreme metal band Meshuggah. The album was released in 1 May 1991 by Nuclear Blast. Contradictions Collapse was originally titled (All This Because of) Greed. The album leans more towards a thrash metal and alternative metal sound than the band's later works, featuring heavy riffs and influences of hip hop and industrial dance in the drum patterns. It was re-released as a digipak with an incomplete version of Meshuggah's second EP, None, in 1998, with no liner notes or lyrics included in the booklet.
Jefferson Airplane Takes Off is the debut studio album by the American rock band Jefferson Airplane, released on 15 August 1966 by RCA Victor. The personnel differs from the later "classic" lineup: Signe Toly Anderson was the female vocalist and Skip Spence played drums. Both soon left the group—Spence in May 1966, Anderson in October—and were replaced by Spencer Dryden and Grace Slick, respectively.

Dreaming Out Loud is the debut studio album by American rock band OneRepublic. The album was released on November 20, 2007, by Interscope Records. The album was recorded between 2004 and 2007 and it was produced by Greg Wells, with two songs produced by singer Ryan Tedder, and was engineered and mixed by Joe Zook. The album followed two years of massive success on Myspace; the band had appeared in Myspace Music's Top Artists since early 2006, with over 28 million total song plays counted.
Away from the World is the eighth studio album by Dave Matthews Band (DMB), released on September 11, 2012. The album's title comes from a line in the song "The Riff": "Sitting in a box / away from the world out there." According to Matthews, it relates to the dour idea that "we are born and die alone" and that "our body is our box."

Misþyrming are a black metal band from Reykjavík, Iceland. The band formed in June 2013 and are currently signed to the French record label Norma Evangelium Diaboli. They released their debut studio album Söngvar elds og óreiðu on 7 February 2015 to widespread critical acclaim. The band have since toured Europe and the United States, performed at Eistnaflug, and were named an 'artist in residence' at the famous Roadburn Festival in 2016.
Obsequiae is an American medieval metal band formed in 2007 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The current line-up of the band consists of Tanner Anderson, Vicente La Camera Mariño (harp) and Andrew Della Cagna (drums). The band's debut album, Obsequiae’s Suspended in the Brume of Eos, was released in 2011. Its 2015 follow-up, Aria of Vernal Tombs, received positive reviews from music outlets such as Pitchfork, Spin and Decibel.
