The Food and Drugs Act 1955 (4 & 5 Eliz. 2. c. 16) was an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that consolidated enactments related to food and drugs in England and Wales, including provisions in relation to slaughterhouses and knackers' yards.

Contents

The Food and Drugs (Scotland) Act 1956 (4 & 5 Eliz. 2. c. 30) made similar provisions for Scotland. [1]

Subsequent developments

The whole act was repealed by section 134 of, and the ninth schedule to, the Food Act 1984, which came into force on 26 September 1984. [3]
