The football tournament at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games will be held from 29 April to 16 May 2023 in Cambodia. All matches are held in Phnom Penh city.
Associations affiliated with FIFA may send teams to participate in the tournament. There were no age restrictions on women's teams. For men's teams, the age limit has returned from under-23 to under-22 (born on or after 1 January 2001) with no overage players are allowed. [1]
The draw was held on 5 April 2023 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium. [2]

A total of 4 venues in Phnom Penh are used to host the football matches. Olympic Stadium and Visakha Stadium will host the men's tournament, the women's Bronze medal match and Gold medal match. Meanwhile, Old Stadium and RSN Stadium will host the women's group stage and semifinals.

The Olympic Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It has a capacity of 50,000. Despite its name, the stadium has never hosted an Olympic Games.
The 2011 AFC President's Cup was the seventh edition of the AFC President's Cup, a football competition organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for clubs from "emerging countries" in Asia.

The Cambodia women's national football team represents Cambodia in international women's football, and is controlled by the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC). the team's first activity was in 2018, where they debuted in the AFF Women's Championship.

The 2016 AFF U-16 Youth Championship was the 11th edition of the AFF U-16 Youth Championship, organised by the ASEAN Football Federation for the men's under-16 national teams of Southeastern Asia. It is hosted by Cambodia for the third time after the 2007 AFF U-17 Youth Championship and 2015 AFF U-16 Youth Championship, and won by Australia. It is played between 10 to 23 July 2016.

The men's football tournament at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games is being held in Cambodia. Ten Southeast Asian nations entered the men's tournament. The tournament is limited to players exclusively under-22 years of age.
The women's football tournament at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games is being held from 3–15 May 2023 in Cambodia. Eight Southeast Asian nations participated in the women's tournament. All matches are played in Phnom Penh. There is no age limit for this tournament. Indonesia withdrew from the competition after the draw. Timor-Leste did not take part in the competition.
