The Philippines is currently participating at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games which is being held from 5 to 16 May 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The Philippine delegation to the 2023 Southeast Asian Games is planned to compose of 814 athletes in all sports. [1] with Chito Loyzaga as the chef de mission. [2]
The Philippines intend to participate in all 38 sports with 905 athletes. [3] For non-traditional sports, they plan to employ athletes who play a similar discipline such as traditional swimmers for fin swimming and kickboxers for kun bokator. [4] The national delegation also had to contend with the 70 percent participation limit in combat sports or martial arts; a quota not applicable to the hosts. [5]
An all-women delegation, save for Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Tolentino and chef de mission Loyzaga is set to represent the country in the opening ceremony. [6] Volleyball player Alyssa Valdez will be the flag-bearer. [7]

The 2023 Southeast Asian Games (Khmer: ការប្រកួតកីឡាប្រជាជាតិអាស៊ីអាគ្នេយ៍២០២៣, UNGEGN: Karôprkuŏt Keila Prâchéachéatĕ Asi Akné 2023, commonly known as the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, or the 32nd SEA Games, and commonly known as Cambodia 2023, is the 32nd edition of the Southeast Asian Games, a biennial sports multi-sport event which is currently being held from 5 to 17 May 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The Philippines competed at the 29th Southeast Asian Games which took place in Malaysia from 19 to 30 August 2017. The Philippines contingent was composed of 497 athletes, 163 sporting officials and 70 administrative and medical staff who competed in 37 out of the 38 sports. The Philippines finished the 29th SEA Games in 6th place with a medal haul of 23 Golds, 33 Silvers and 64 Bronze which is the country's worst finish in 18 years. The next edition of the Southeast Asian Games was hosted by the Philippines in 2019.

The 2022 AFF U-23 Championship was the 3rd edition of the AFF U-23 Championship, organised by ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held from 14 to 26 February in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Indonesia were the defending champions, having won the 2019 edition. The tournament was held amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesia and Myanmar withdrew from the tournament after several of their players tested positive for COVID-19.

The mixed team badminton tournament at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games was held from 8 to 10 May 2023 at the Morodok Techo Badminton Hall, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This is for the first time the mixed team event has been contested in the Southeast Asian Games. This event particularly contested for non stronger badminton nations. It is to provide an opportunity for other nations to win medals in badminton event and also introduced to help the development of badminton sport.
