For the Girls is the seventh album and sixth studio album of actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth.
On August 13, 2019, Chenoweth announced via her social media that she would release her next studio album in the fall of 2019. The album itself would be her most personal cover album yet, paying tribute to many of strong female artists who inspired her as an entertainer including Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Doris Day, Judy Garland, Carole King, and others. She also revealed that the album would include duets with artists such as Parton and Reba McEntire, along with her former Hairspray Live co-stars Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson. [1]
The lyric video for "You Don't Own Me", a duet with Ariana Grande, was released the same day as the album on September 27, 2019. [2]
In support of the album, Chenoweth announced she would return to Broadway with her second Broadway concert residency of the same name, consisting of eight performances at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre [3] [4]

Kristin Dawn Chenoweth is an American actress and singer, with credits in musical theatre, film, and television. In 1999, she won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance as Sally Brown in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown on Broadway. In 2003, Chenoweth received a second Tony Award nomination for originating the role of Glinda in the musical Wicked. Her television roles include Annabeth Schott in NBC's The West Wing and Olive Snook on the ABC comedy drama Pushing Daisies, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2009. She also starred in the ABC TV series GCB in 2012, played Lavinia in Trial & Error in 2018 and was the antagonist, Mildred Layton, in the Apple TV+ musical comedy Schmigadoon! (2021).

Victoria Monét McCants is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. She became involved in performing arts at a young age, singing in the youth choir at her church, and performing in a city dance team. The Dangerous Woman Tour was the third concert tour and the second arena tour by American singer Ariana Grande in support of her third studio album, Dangerous Woman (2016). It traveled across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Oceania. The tour started on February 3, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona, and ended on September 21, 2017 in Hong Kong. The tour was temporarily halted on May 22, 2017 due to a terrorist bombing, which happened minutes after the end of Grande's Manchester Arena show, killing 22 concert-goers and physically injuring 139 others. After organizing and performing at the One Love Manchester benefit concert, Grande resumed the tour on June 7, 2017 in Paris, France.

Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls is the second musical revue-style concert written for and starring American singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth. The show was intended to promote Chenoweth's sixth studio album, For the Girls, which celebrates the music of some iconic female entertainers. The show was directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, with musical direction by Mary Mitchell Campbell, and produced by James L. Nederlander following the success of her first Broadway residency concert, My Love Letter to Broadway. The show was a limited engagement of 8 performances at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre from November 8 through 17, 2019.
