Sanctus Real is an American Christian rock band formed in Toledo, Ohio, in 1996. The group is composed of Chris Rohman, Mark Graalman (drums), and Dustin Lolli. The band is best known for their number one singles "Lead Me", "Forgiven", "Whatever You're Doing", "I'm Not Alright", "Don't Give Up", "We Need Each Other", "Everything About You", and "The Fight Song". Since 2002, they have released five albums through the Sparrow Records label, an independent EP This Is Love, and "Changed" on Framework Records.

Matthew Arnold Thiessen is a Canadian-born American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer known for being co-founder, lead singer, guitarist, pianist, and primary songwriter for the rock band Relient K. With Relient K, he has released eight full-length albums, including three that were certified Gold, and three that peaked in the top twenty on the Billboard 200. Outside of his work with Relient K, Thiessen leads a side project called Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes, which released its debut album Wind Up Bird on August 31, 2018. In 2009, he co-produced and collaborated on Owl City's album Ocean Eyes.

It was released to Christian radio around July 2007, was played as a Top 40 single to a station in Saginaw, MI in early August. The song being a slower one, it was released for contemporary stations, rather than rock stations. The band also made the song available as a profile song on the group's MySpace. It has reached No. 17 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. While it may have played on some mainstream stations, the song did not receive a music video like "Must Have Done Something Right" and "The Best Thing". The single was the 20th most played song on Christian Hit Radio stations in 2007 according to R&R magazine.
