Forgotten Freshness Volumes 1 & 2 is a rarities album by American hip hop group Insane Clown Posse. Released in 1998, it features unreleased and lost tracks that are harder to find elsewhere. It also contains some tracks that were remixed or changed. Before this album's release the ICP released Forgotten Freshness in 1995, but because of sample-clearing problems it was only released in the Detroit area and the mid-west. Many of the tracks on that album appeared again on these albums for wider distribution purposes.

Contents

Three tracks, "Life at a Risk", "Ghetto Zone", and "Ask You Somethin'" do not appear on this album, despite appearing on the original Forgotten Freshness. It is the 2nd installment in the group's "Forgotten Freshness album series", their 3rd compilation album and their 11th overall release.

Music and lyrics

Forgotten Freshness Volumes 1 & 2 features several scrapped songs intended for some of the group's previous albums. The songs "Fat Sweaty Betty," "Willy Bubba," and "I Didn't Mean To Kill 'Em" were all intended to be released on Riddle Box . [3] [4] "Fat Sweaty Betty" was eventually given away as a single at the group's two "Mental Warp" shows. [4] The song "House of Wonders" was originally set to be released on The Great Milenko , but was later released on Mutilation Mix . [4]

"Piggy Pie (Old School)" is the original version of the song "Piggie Pie," found on The Great Milenko . [4] The Walt Disney Company, owner of the group's label at the time, asked that the lyrics to the original be changed, threatening to not release the album otherwise. [4] [5] The song "Southwest Strangla" was planned to be released on Shaggy 2 Dope's second solo album Shaggs The Clown, but the entire project was scrapped. [4] In the beginning of the song, a news brief is played about the actual looting of Northwest Airlines Flight 255 which crashed on I-94 in Detroit in 1987.

The album also features two remixes, "Mr. Johnson's Head" and "Hokus Pokus." "Dead Pumpkins" was the first Hallowicked single given away in 1994, while "Mr. Rotten Treats" and "Halloween on Military Street" were the 1995 and 1996 singles. [4] [6] With a change in beat and lyrics, the song "Hey, Vato" became "Wagon Wagon" found on the Ringmaster album. [4] Some lyrics from the song are also found on the song "Who Asked You," also on Ringmaster. This is currently the only ICP album under Island Records that you can pick up on Psychopathic's official merchandise website, Hatchetgear.

Behind the Paint is the 2003 autobiography of American hip hop artist Joseph Bruce, better known as Violent J, one half of the Detroit, Michigan hip hop group Insane Clown Posse. The book focuses on Bruce's entire life until 2002. It begins with a chronological account of his childhood, professional wrestling career, and musical career, including the conception of Insane Clown Posse's Dark Carnival mythology and the development of their fan base, known as "Juggalos".

Homies (song) 2002 single by Insane Clown Posse featuring Twiztid

"Homies" is a song written by Insane Clown Posse, Mike Puwal and Twiztid for ICP's 2002 album The Wraith: Shangri-La. After the 1992 single "Psychopathic", "Homies" is the second single released by the group to not be produced by Mike E. Clark, who had stopped working with Psychopathic Records due to a disagreement with ICP's Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler. Clark later produced a remix of the song, which appeared on Forgotten Freshness Volume 4, after Clark reconciled with ICP.

The Dark Carnival is described by hip hop duo Insane Clown Posse in much of their discography. This concept, similar to the "heaven and hell" language of most major monotheistic religions, is the primary source of inspiration for Insane Clown Posse's two series of albums called Joker's Cards, each containing six albums.

Psychopathic Records is an American independent record label based in Farmington Hills, Michigan that specializes in hip hop music. Owned by Insane Clown Posse members Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler, the label was founded by the group and their manager Alex Abbiss in 1991. Then known as Inner City Posse, the group released the label's first album, Dog Beats, that year. Since its foundation, the label has featured 23 artists and bands from the United States, predominantly around Detroit, Michigan.

Robert Bruce is an American retired rapper and professional wrestler who would go on to become a Don for Psychopathic Records.

Richard Murrell is an American guitarist and singer from Detroit, Michigan, United States, better known as Legz Diamond. A former member of the rock band Coup Detroit, Murrell is best known as an affiliate of the hip hop duo Insane Clown Posse, for which he has provided production work, guitar and backing vocals and has also served as a Ring Announcer on their JCW wrestling tours. In 2013, Murrell signed as a solo artist with Psychopathic Records.
