Fourmile is located at 36°47′33″N83°44′34″W / 36.79250°N 83.74278°W . Fourmile is along the Cumberland River.
A post office was established in the community in 1899. The origins of the name Fourmile are disputed: some hold it is because of hamlet's location four miles downriver from Pineville, while others believe it was named after the four-mile length of nearby Fourmile Creek. [2]

The former Rydal Bank Church, also known as the Rydal Bank Presbyterian Church and the Rydal Bank United Church, is an historic Carpenter Gothic-style church building located at 1634 Highway 638, in Rydal Bank in the township of Plummer Additional, north of Bruce Mines, Ontario, Canada. Completed in 1908, its wooden frame exterior, corner entry-bell tower, steep pitched roof and lancet windows are typical of Carpenter Gothic style churches. It was built to serve a Presbyterian congregation which joined the United Church of Canada in 1925 when that new denomination was formed.
The Kentucky Route 2014 Bridge along Kentucky Route 2014 in Bell County, Kentucky, was a truss bridge spanning the Cumberland River near Pineville, Kentucky. The bridge was 328 feet (100 m) long. The bridge was a Warren through truss bridge and one of the early styles of the bridge. The bridge was constructed in 1873 by the Louisville Bridge and Iron Company of Louisville, Kentucky, and the Phoenix Iron Company of Pennsylvania and subsequently maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Its vertical clearance was 22 feet 6 inches (6.86 m) and could hold a limit of 15 tons of traffic.
