Frances Bronet is a Canadian architect and academic administrator who has been serving as the 12th president of Pratt Institute in New York City since January 2018. She previously served as provost of the private Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago from 2015 to 2018 and acting provost of the University of Oregon from 2014 to 2015.
From McGill University in Canada, Bronet received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (1977), a professional Bachelor of Architecture (1978), and a Bachelor of Engineering in civil engineering. Bronet received a Master of Science in Architecture from Columbia University. She is a member of the Order of Architects of Quebec. [1] [2]
Bronet began her academic career as a faculty member at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, in 1985. She served as dean of the University of Oregon College of Design from 2005 to 2014 and acting provost of the University of Oregon from 2014 to 2015. Bronet served as senior vice president and provost at the private Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago from 2015 to 2018. Geraldine Lee Richmond is an American chemist and physical chemist who is serving as the Under Secretary of Energy for Science in the US Department of Energy. Richmond was confirmed to her DOE role by the United States Senate on November 5, 2021. Richmond is the Presidential Chair in Science and professor of chemistry at the University of Oregon (UO). She conducts fundamental research to understand the chemistry and physics of complex surfaces and interfaces. These understandings are most relevant to energy production, atmospheric chemistry and remediation of the environment. Throughout her career she has worked to increase the number and success of women scientists in the U.S. and in many developing countries in Africa, Asia and South America. Gertrude Lempp Kerbis was an American modernist architect. Kerbis' education includes studying at Wright Junior College, University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois, Harvard University, and Illinois Institute of Technology. She studied under and worked for several significant modernists of her day, including Walter Gropius, Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe, and Carl Koch. Kerbis worked at Skidmore, Ownings & Merrill and C.F. Murphy Associates before establishing her own firm, Lempp Kerbis, in Chicago 1967. Her work entails that interior design can also be viewed as architecture and not just the aesthetic of a space. She was a lead designer in several major works of American modernism, including the Lustron house for a MoMA competition, Mitchell Hall at the US Air Force Academy, the Seven Continents Restaurant at the O'Hare International Airport Rotunda, and the Skokie Public Library in Skokie, IL. Kerbis founded the Chicago Women in Architecture group in 1973. She was a member of the American Institute of Architects, and notably became an AIA Fellow in 1970.
Ravi V. Bellamkonda is an Indian-American biomedical engineer and academic administrator. Since 2021, he has served as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Bellamkonda was previously Vinik Dean of the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University.
