Frankenmuth Credit Union is a federally insured, state-chartered credit union headquartered in Frankenmuth, Michigan and founded in 1964.
Frankenmuth Credit Union was founded in 1964 by employees of the Carling Brewery and Star of the West Milling Company. [1] [2] [3] Their original stated purpose was to serve the brewers and millers of the Frankenmuth, Michigan area. [1] [2] [3] It primarily served employees of Carling Brewery, Zeilinger Beverage, Geyer's Brewery, and Star of the West Milling. It opened its membership to the wider community in 1969. [4]
In December 2017, the company signed a ten-year naming rights deal to have the Birch Run Expo Center renamed the Frankenmuth Credit Union Event Center. [5] [6] The venue ultimately closed and was sold to Camping World in November 2020. [7]
Frankenmuth Credit Union was recognized in 2020 by Forbes and Statista as one of the best credit unions in the nation. [3]
In July 2021, the company introduced services specifically for the cannabis industry in Michigan. [8] [9]
The company merged with Owosso WBC Federal Credit Union on July 31, 2021, keeping the Frankenmuth Credit Union name. [10]
By February 2024, Frankenmuth Credit Union had branches in Bay, Genesee, Huron, Midland, [4] Ogemaw, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, [10] and Tuscola counties. [1] [2] [11]

In February 2024, the credit union was sued, along with Great Lakes Homes, in an eight-count civil lawsuit filed in Saginaw County, Michigan by sixteen plaintiffs from Saginaw, Bay, Midland and Roscommon counties in Michigan. [12] The plaintiffs alleged that the credit union continued to send clients to Great Lakes Homes, even after a title company would no longer do business with Great Lakes Home because of suspected fraud. [12] The lawsuit also claims that the credit union pressured clients to sign 'Draw Distribution Authorization' documents to release funds to Great Lakes Home and that the plaintiffs' homes construction were either not started, not completed, or deficient. [12] [13] The lawsuit asked for damages of more than US$25,000 for each of the eight counts. [12]

M-30 is a state trunkline highway in the U.S. state of Michigan that runs in a north–south direction from M-46 near Merrill to M-55 in West Branch. The highway runs through rural parts of five counties in the Lower Peninsula. The southern end runs along the Michigan Meridian and parallel to the Tittabawassee River. The southern end of the highway has been truncated twice and re-extended twice back to its pre-1962 extent.
The Frankenmuth Credit Union Event Center was a 2,500 seat multi-purpose arena in Birch Run, Michigan. However, it was sold to Camping World in November 2020 and is now one of their largest showrooms. Prior to 2002, it was the first NHL Skate center. Due to lack of interest, it was converted into an events center. It was also the home of the Great Lakes Storm from 2002 to 2005. Prior to being sold in 2020, it was operated by Oak View Group Facilities and used for trade shows, conventions and other events, such as gun and knife shows and music festivals.

Michigan's 8th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Central Michigan. The district was first created in 1873, after redistricting following the 1870 census. From 2003 to 2013, it consisted of all of Clinton, Ingham, and Livingston counties, and included the southern portion of Shiawassee and the northern portion of Oakland counties. From 2013 to 2023, the district no longer covered Clinton or Shiawassee counties and instead covered more of Oakland County, including Rochester. The Council was headquartered in Flint, Michigan, with service centers located in Auburn, Lansing, and Port Huron. The Water and Woods Field Service Council was the result of a merger in 2012 of Lake Huron Area Council, Blue Water Council, Tall Pine Council and Chief Okemos Council.
