Feluda, or Prodosh Chandra Mitra [Mitter], is a fictional detective, private investigator created by Indian director and writer Satyajit Ray. Feluda resides at 21 Rajani Sen Road, Ballygunge, Calcutta, West Bengal. Feluda first made his appearance in a Bengali children's magazine called Sandesh in 1965, under the editorialship of Ray and Subhas Mukhopadhyay. His first adventure was Feludar Goendagiri. Feluda is one of the most impactful Bengali characters of all time.

Atanu Ghosh is an Indian filmmaker. His Bengali film Mayurakshi (2017) was awarded the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali. His film Angshumaner Chhobi, Mayurakshi, Binisutoy, Abby Sen and Rupkatha Noy, bagged multiple Awards.He was born on 12 August 1969 in Kolkata, West Bengal. One of his Bengali movies named Mayurakshi was awarded as the Best Feature Film in Bengali. Atanu started his career as a scriptwriter and director for documentary films in 1996. For his work in Aar Ek Bampi, he received the Doordarshan National Awards for Best Children's Telefilm.

Cinema of West Bengal, also known as Tollywood or Bengali cinema, is an Indian film industry of Bengali-language motion pictures. It is based in the Tollygunge region of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The origins of the nickname Tollywood, a portmanteau of the words Tollygunge and Hollywood, dates back to 1932. It was a historically important film industry, at one time the centre of Indian film production. The Bengali film industry is known for producing many of Indian cinema's most critically acclaimed global Parallel Cinema and art films, with several of its filmmakers gaining prominence at the Indian National Film Awards as well as international acclaim.

Debojyoti Mishra is an Indian music director and film composer. He became popular with his minimalist classical compositions for the Hindi film Raincoat, directed by Rituparno Ghosh. He also worked on Bengali films, Chaturanga and Sesher Kobita, directed by Suman Mukhopadhyay. He composed songs for the Bengali film Autograph starring Prasenjit Chatterjee, Nandana Sen and Indraneil Sengupta.

<i>Ashchorjyo Prodeep</i> 2013 Indian film

Aschorjyo Prodeep is a 2013 Indian Bengali-language film directed by Anik Dutta. The film is based on a short story by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay. It is Dutta's second feature film as a director. The film's theatrical trailer was released on YouTube on 26 October 2013 while the film released on 15 November 2013 in Kolkata. The film deals with the unfulfilled aspirations of an everyday couple whose dreams never become reality and as they try hard to excel in life. Anilabha discovers a magic lamp from which a genie emerges and is able to take him to unseen heights in life that he never reached before and also life of extreme luxury and fortunes. How they adjust and cope with their new-found lives forms the rest of the story.

She began her career as a theatre artist, performing in Uttaran and later Bohurupee. She has also been a newscaster and radio artist. She is an alumnus of Patha Bhavan, Kolkata.

Soukarya Ghosal is an Indian filmmaker, director, screenwriter, illustrator and music composer. He is widely considered for his work in Rainbow Jelly, a food fantasy film for the children in Bengali Cinema. His first feature film was Pendulum, bagged three awards in the 4th Mirchi Music Awards Bangla 2014 by Radio Mirchi.

Firdausul Hasan is a film producer from Kolkata. His production house Friends Communication won best feature film in Bengali in the 65th National Awards for his film Mayurakshi. He was the former president of Film Federation of India from 2019 to 2020. Under his leadership, FFI organized first Global Cinema Festival and Bharat Bangladesh Film Awards. In 2015 he chaired the position of the president of Bengal Film and Television Chamber of Commerce till 2021. He served this position till 2021.

<i>Borunbabur Bondhu</i> 2020 Indian Bengali film

Borunbabur Bondhu is a 2019 Bengali-language Indian drama film directed by Anik Dutta for Surinder Films. The film is based on a Bengali story Chhad written by Ramapada Chowdhury. It is the story of an old man, whose life faces upheaval after people come to know that a VVIP who was once his friend, is coming for a visit. The film stars Soumitra Chatterjee in the role of elderly man with supporting cast of Madhabi Mukhopadhyay, Paran Bandopadhyay, Ritwick Chakraborty, Arpita Chatterjee, Sreelekha Mitra, Kaushik Sen and Bidipta Chakraborty.

Chitrankar Sen, known professionally as Pratik Sen, is an Indian film and television actor, who works predominantly in the Bengali film industry.

Arghyakamal Mitra is an Indian film editor who primarily works in Bengali films. He collaborated with some acclaimed directors like Aparna Sen, Rituparno Ghosh, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Suman Mukhopadhyay, Anjan Dutta, Anik Dutta, Soukarya Ghosal and Bauddhayan Mukherji. The 5th Filmfare Awards Bangla ceremony, presented by The Times Group, honor the best Bengali language Indian films of 2020–2021. The nominations were announced on 14 March 2022. The ceremony was held on 17 March 2022 in Kolkata. Borunbabur Bondhu and Tonic shared the award for Best Film. The Award Show was aired on 24 and 30 April 2022 on Zee Bangla and Zee Bangla Cinema respectively. The show was hosted by Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar and Anirban Bhattacharya.

<i>Aparajito</i> (2022 film) 2022 Indian film

Aparajito, also known as Aparajito – The Undefeated, is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language biographical film directed and co-written by Anik Dutta. It was produced by Firdausul Hasan and Probal Halder under the banner of Friends Communication, and is based on the making of the film Pather Panchali by Satyajit Ray. The film, being shot in black and white, stars Jeetu Kamal in the title role of Aparajito Ray.

Kaberi Antardhan is a 2023 Indian Bengali language period romantic thriller film written and directed by Kaushik Ganguly. It is produced by Nispal Singh under the banner of Surinder Films. The film stars Srabanti Chatterjee and Prosenjit Chatterjee in lead roles. The story revolves around a crime and a love story at North Bengal during the Indian Emergency Period.

Shesh Pata is a 2023 Indian Bengali language film written and directed by Atanu Ghosh. The film is produced by Firdausul Hasan and Probal Halder under the banner of Friends Communication. The film stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Gargi Roychowdhury, Vikram Chatterjee and Rayati Bhattacharya in lead roles.

Uron Tubri is a 2022 Indian Bengali language Drama television series that released on 28 March 2022 on Zee Bangla. The series is produced under the banner of Friends Communication. It stars Sohini Banerjee and Swastik Ghosh in lead roles.
