An extended play (EP) is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single but fewer than an album or LP record. Contemporary EPs generally contain four or five tracks, and are considered "less expensive and time-consuming" for an artist to produce than an album. An EP originally referred to specific types of records other than 78 rpm standard play (SP) and LP, but it is now applied to mid-length CDs and downloads as well. In K-pop they are usually referred to as mini albums. Ricardo Baca of The Denver Post said, "EPs—originally extended-play 'single' releases that are shorter than traditional albums—have long been popular with punk and indie bands." In the United Kingdom, the Official Chart Company defines a boundary between EP and album classification at 25 minutes of maximum length and no more than four tracks.
Guillemot is the common name for several species of seabird in the Alcidae or auk family. In British use, the term comprises two genera: Uria and Cepphus. In North America the Uria species are called murres and only the Cepphus species are called "guillemots". This word of French origin derives from a form of the name William, cf. French: Guillaume.

Through the Windowpane is the debut full-length album from the British indie rock band Guillemots. It was released on 10 July 2006 in the United Kingdom and reached number 17 in the UK Album Chart. The album was highly anticipated following the strength of the singles "Trains to Brazil" and "Made-Up Lovesong #43". It was nominated for the 2006 Mercury Music Prize. The band released the final single from the album, a re-recording of "Annie, Let's Not Wait", on 15 January 2007.
Aristazabal Emi Chen Hawkes is the double bass player for the British indie band Guillemots. She was born in Sointula, on Malcolm Island in British Columbia, Canada. Hawkes is of mixed Chinese and Japanese ancestry. She has studied piano classically, and jazz at the New School in New York City.

The Shadows is an EP by The Shadows, released in January 1961. The EP is a 7-inch vinyl record and released in mono with the catalogue number Columbia SEG 8061 and in stereo with the catalogue number Columbia ESG 7834. The Shadows was the UK number-one EP for 20 weeks, having two separate stints at the top of the chart from January to June 1961. The cover photograph was taken by Angus McBean. The original picture showed Cliff together with the Shadows, however the layout for the EP was adapted and Cliff was replaced by yellow triangles.
"Kriss Kross" / "Clarion" is a double A-side single by multinational band Guillemots. It was released on 28 September 2008 as a digital download, then as a limited edition 10" record two weeks later. It was the first double A-side released by Guillemots. Lead singer Fyfe Dangerfield explained: "We've always meant to put out a double A-side at some point, and we couldn't decide which of 'Kriss Kross' and 'Clarion' should be the next single, so now seemed like the right time to do both." Dangerfield was the sole writer of "Clarion"; "Kriss Kross" was credited to the entire band. Both songs were produced by Guillemots and record producer Adam Noble, and both were featured on Guillemots' second album, Red.
"Why Don't You Bring Me Flowers?" is a song by Swedish pop music duo Roxette, released on 4 November 2016 as the third and final single from their tenth studio album, Good Karma. Originally composed by Per Gessle as an uptempo song, the track was recorded as a ballad on the advice of vocalist Marie Fredriksson. For its single release, the song was remixed by Good Karma co-producers Addeboy vs. Cliff, who restored the original tempo. The original album version of the track received positive reviews, with several reviewers referring to it as one of the best ballads ever recorded by Roxette while noting its similarity to the work of Enya.
The Cliff is the sixth EP by American post-metal band Pelican, released through Southern Lord Records on February 24, 2015. Despite Pelican being a predominantly instrumental band, three of the EP's four tracks feature vocals.
