FutureNever is the second studio album by the Australian musician Daniel Johns, released on 22 April 2022 by BMG Music Australia. It was announced in December 2021 and initially scheduled for release on 1 April 2022 [3] until it was delayed to 22 April to include the song "Emergency Calls Only". [4] Johns said that he did not want to release any singles before the album, as he intended it to "be enjoyed as an album". [4] Johns missed his own album launch party due to crashing his car in a high-range DUI incident. [5] [6]

At the 2022 ARIA Music Awards, the album was nominated for Best Solo Artist. [7]

At the AIR Awards of 2023, the album was nominated for Independent Album of the Year and won Best Independent Pop Album or EP. [8] [9]

Andrew Trendell from NME wrote, "While there's a lot of Daniel Johns at his best here, this isn't The Best of Daniel Johns. There's rock bravado throughout, but you won't get a whiff of Frogstomp . Styles and eras clash, but Neon Ballroom it ain't. There is, however, a vulnerability, curiosity and adventure that makes FutureNever unmistakably Johns." [10]

Daniel Paul Johns is an Australian musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the frontman, guitarist, and main songwriter of the rock band Silverchair. Johns is also one half of The Dissociatives with Paul Mac and one half of Dreams with Luke Steele. He released his first solo album, Talk, in 2015. Johns' second solo album, FutureNever, was released on 22 April 2022.

Casey Barnes is an Australian country rock singer-songwriter from Tasmania, Australia, who is best known as a contestant on the seventh season of Australian Idol in 2009. Barnes won the ARIA Award for Best Country Album in 2022.

Citizen Kay. Owusu's debut studio album, Smiling with No Teeth, reached the ARIA Albums Chart top 30. At the 2021 ARIA Music Awards he won four trophies for Album of the Year, Best Hip Hop Release, Best Independent Release and Best Cover Art.

Pre Pleasure is the third studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin. It was released on 26 August 2022 under Polyvinyl Record Co. and Transgressive Records. At the 2022 ARIA Music Awards, the album earned Jacklin nominations for Best Solo Artist, Best Independent Release and Best Adult Contemporary Album. The album was also nominated for several other awards, including the Australian Album of the Year at the 2022 J Awards, the Australian Music Prize, Independent Album of the Year at the AIR Awards of 2023, and Best Album at the 2023 Music Victoria Awards.
