Gangs of Lagos (Original Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album composed by Tolu Obanro for the 2023 Nigerian action-thriller film Gangs of Lagos , [1] directed by Jade Osiberu. It was released on 7 April 2023, the same date as the film's theatrical release in Nigeria. the soundtrack features a diverse range of musical styles that reflect the cultural and emotional depth of the movie. Background

Tolu Obanro was announced as the composer for Gangs of Lagos, marking another collaboration with director Jade Osiberu, [2] [3] following his work on the score for Brotherhood (2022). [4] Obanro began his career working in the oil and gas industry but eventually transitioned to music, pursuing his passion full-time. [5] Initially, he worked as a music producer for gospel artists such as Mike Abdul, Kenny Kore, and Monique. Over time, he expanded his expertise to include music production and film scoring. [6]

Obanro's first foray into film scoring came after working on several YouTube projects. His debut feature film score was for Your Excellency , followed by the critically acclaimed Netflix series King of Boys: The Return of the King in 2021. [7] The soundtrack also features an additional song by Chike. [8]

Aluko Damilola professionally known as Adam Songbird is a Nigerian film score composer, singer-songwriter and sound designer.

Lisabi: The Uprising is a 2024 Nigerian historical drama film directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, and produced by Adebimpe Oyebade and Victoria Akujobi. The cast features Lateef Adedimeji, Adebimpe Oyebade, Ibrahim Chatta, Jide Awobona, Eniola Ajao, and Adebowale Adedayo. The plot follows Lisabi Agbongbo-Akala, a farmer-driven to vengeance after witnessing the brutal killing of his close friend by the Alaafin of Oyo and his ally, Songodeyi. The film is loosely based on the historic 18th-century Lisabi Rebellion of Abeokuta.
