Gary M. Anderson

Gary Michael Anderson (born October 30, 1947 in Compton, California) is an American musician. [1]

He attended Berklee School of Music as a Down Beat Hall of Fame Scholarship recipient, and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude. He served there as a full-time professor and a member of the Berklee Saxophone Quartet, [2] received the institution's Outstanding Achievement Award, and has since been named one of Berklee's Fifty Outstanding Alumnus. [3]

For five years, beginning in 1973, Anderson toured with Woody Herman's Thundering Herd [4] as music director, playing saxophone and arranging. Anderson is credited on seven albums.

After leaving the Herman's band in 1978, Anderson settled in NYC where he composed, arranged, and orchestrated for television, films, and stage. Gary received numerous Daytime Emmy nominations for work with gameshows (Price Is Right, Matchgame, Family Feud, etc.) daytime dramas (One Life To Live, Guiding Light, All My Children, etc.) and animation (Mighty Mouse, Malcolm & Melvin, Hulk Hogan's Rock & Roll Wrestling, etc.). He received a Grammy award in music production for the 30th Anniversary of the Sesame Street soundtrack, "Elmopalooza" and a special Emmy in music production for The 1988 Goodwill Games. Anderson worked as an orchestrator on over 50 movies with composer Charles Gross as well as Broadway stage work with Marvin Hamlisch, Charles Strouse, Bob Fosse and mentor, Ralph Burns.

Recently re-located to Las Vegas, Nevada, Anderson continues his multi-faceted work and participates in summer jazz clinics around the country.

Leading various groups called "The Herd", Herman came to prominence in the late 1930s and was active until his death in 1987. His bands often played music that was cutting edge and experimental for its time; they received numerous Grammy nominations and awards.

Alf Heiberg Clausen is an American film and television composer. He is best known for his work scoring many episodes of The Simpsons, of which he had been the sole composer between 1990 and 2017. Clausen has scored or orchestrated music for more than 30 films and television shows, including Moonlighting, The Naked Gun, ALF and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Clausen received an Honorary Doctorate of Music from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 1996.

Frank Valentini is the executive producer for the ABC soap opera General Hospital. He previously held the position of executive producer, director, and composer for the ABC soap opera One Life to Live. From 1986 to 1992 he worked as stage manager. In 1992 he was promoted to associate producer, assuming full producer duties in 1995. In 2003 he became executive producer, replacing Gary Tomlin.

Alex Lacamoire is an American musician, arranger, conductor, musical director, music copyist, and orchestrator who has worked on many shows both on and off Broadway. He is the recipient of multiple Tony and Grammy Awards for his work on shows such as In the Heights (2008), Hamilton (2016), and Dear Evan Hansen (2017). Lacamoire was awarded the Kennedy Center Honor in 2018. In May 2019, Lacamoire received a honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music.

Brad Hatfield Musician, composer

Brad Hatfield is a musician, arranger, and Emmy Award winning composer. He is a regular performer on piano and keyboards with the Boston Pops Orchestra. He has also performed with the Utah Symphony and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. His arrangements, orchestrations and compositions have been performed by the Boston Pops, Houston Symphony, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.

Vivek Maddala is a two-time Emmy-winning composer who focuses on writing music for feature films, theater and dance productions, and television. He is known for composing music scores for independent movies such as Kaboom, Highway, and American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs, as well as for silent film restorations for Turner Classic Movies, including a 90-minute score for the Greta Garbo film The Mysterious Lady (2002). Additionally, Maddala writes, produces, and performs as a multi-instrumentalist with various recording artists. He is a Sundance Lab Fellow for film composition, and has had work premiere at the Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, and Sundance film festivals. Maddala has received three Daytime Emmy nominations, with two wins, in the category of "Outstanding Music Direction and Composition."

Bill Elliott is an American pianist, bandleader, Hollywood composer and Broadway orchestrator. In 2015 he won a Tony Award for best orchestration for the Broadway musical, An American in Paris. In 2012 he was nominated for both Tony and Grammy awards for Broadway's Nice Work if You Can Get It. Elliott won Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Orchestrations in 2017 for the Broadway Musical Bandstand.

John Oddo was an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. He is most notably associated as pianist and musical director for Woody Herman, Rosemary Clooney and Michael Feinstein.
