Geir-Inge Sivertsen (born 29 August 1965) is a Norwegian engineer and politician for the Conservative Party. [1] He served as minister of fisheries from January to March 2020,and previously served as mayor of Lenvik from 2011 to 2019.
Sivertsen hails from Finnsnes,and graduated as engineer from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. [2]
Sivertsen served as mayor of Lenvik municipality from 2011 to 2019. [2]
He was the mayoral candidate for the Conservative Party of Senja in the 2023 local elections. [3] After lengthy negotiations following the election,the Conservatives formed a majority with the Labour Party and Centre Party,with Sivertsen as mayor and Labour's Marit Stubberud Hanssen as deputy mayor. [4]
He was elected deputy member of the Storting for Troms in 2005,and served until 2009,before being re-elected in 2017 and served until 2021. During this time,he also served as State Secretary for the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries from 2019 to 2020. [1]
From January to March 2020,Sivertsen served as the Minister of Fisheries in Erna Solberg's cabinet. [5]
He resigned on 2 March after controversy surrounding his severance prior to becoming minister. [6] Sivertsen had received double salary after taking over as Minister of Fisheries,by applying for and getting severance pay after his tenure as Mayor of Lenvik had ended. [7] Labour minister Torbjørn Røe Isaksen succeeded him as acting minister [8] until the appointment of Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen as his permanent successor on 13 March. [9]
Tranøy is a former municipality that was located in the old Troms county,Norway. The municipality is situated on the southern coast of the large island of Senja. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was merged into the new Senja Municipality. The administrative centre was the village of Vangsvik in the eastern part of the municipality. Other important villages included Stonglandseidet,Skrollsvika,and Å.
Lenvik is a former municipality that was located in the old Troms county,Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020. The municipality was partly situated on the mainland and partly on the island of Senja in what is now Senja Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county. The administrative centre was the town of Finnsnes,where the Gisund Bridge connects Senja to the mainland on Norwegian County Road 86. Other villages in the municipality included Aglapsvik,Gibostad,Botnhamn,Fjordgård,Finnfjordbotn,Husøy,Langnes,Laukhella,Silsand,and Rossfjordstraumen. The lake Lysvatnet was located in the municipality on Senja island,west of Gibostad.
Per Sandberg is a Norwegian politician for the Capitalist Party and formerly the Progress Party who served as the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries from 2015 to 2018. Sandberg was a member of the Norwegian parliament from 1997 to 2017,and served as chair of the parliamentary standing committees on Justice,and Transport and Communications. He has additionally held the position of first deputy leader of the Progress Party from 2006 to 2018. In 1997 he was convicted of assault and battery of an asylum seeker. His status as a convicted felon has made him controversial in Norwegian politics.
Svein Harald Ludvigsen is a Norwegian former politician for the Conservative Party and a convicted sex offender. He served as a member of parliament (1989–2001),deputy leader of the Conservative Party (1990–1991),minister of fisheries (2001–2005),and county governor of Troms (2006–2014). In 2019 he was convicted of sexually abusing three young men,and sentenced to five years imprisonment;his conviction and sentence became final in January 2020.

Husøy is a village in Senja Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county,Norway. The village covers the entire island of Husøy which is located in the Øyfjorden off the northwest coast of the large island of Senja. The village/island is located about 53 kilometres (33 mi) southwest of the city of Tromsø. The village of Fjordgård sits about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) across the fjord on the island of Senja.
Hillesøy is a former municipality in the old Troms county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1855 until its dissolution in 1964. It was located on both sides of the Malangen fjord in what is now the present-day municipalities of Tromsøand Senja. The administrative centre was located at Brensholmen on the western shore of the island of Kvaløya. Brensholmen is also the location of Hillesøy Church,the main church for the municipality.

She was also the Minister of European Affairs from 2015 to 2016 and Minister for Nordic Cooperation from 2013 to 2016. From 2013 to 2015,she also served as Minister of Fisheries.
