John Ball Jr. was an English amateur golfer of the late 19th and early 20th century.
The Amateur Championship is a golf tournament which has been held annually in the United Kingdom since 1885 except during the two World Wars, and in 1949 and 2019 when Ireland hosted the championship. It is one of the two leading individual tournaments for amateur golfers, alongside the U.S. Amateur. Amateur Bobby Jones won the first of his three Claret Jugs, two strokes ahead of runner-up Al Watrous. Jones was the first amateur to win the title in 29 years, last by Harold Hilton in 1897. Americans finished in the top four spots and it was the fifth victory by an American in six years.

His brother David, also a professional golfer, worked at the club as well.
Robert Maxwell was a Scottish amateur golfer who played during the late 19th century and early 20th century. Maxwell had four top-10 finishes in The Open Championship. His best performance came in the 1902 Open Championship when he placed fourth. Maxwell won The Amateur Championship twice, in 1903 and 1909, both events having been played at Muirfield.
John Graham Jr. was a Scottish amateur golfer. He had three top-10 finishes in the Open Championship. Graham's best finish was fourth place in the 1906 Open Championship. His other top finishes in the Open Championship were tied ninth in 1901 and tied seventh in 1904.
The Irish Championship Meeting Professional Tournament was a series of golf tournaments played in Ireland. The Irish Championship Meeting had been instituted in 1892 by the Golfing Union of Ireland. The main event was the Irish Amateur Open Championship but in a number of years a professional tournament was also held at the meeting. A total of 6 tournaments were held between 1894 and 1901.
Walter George Toogood was an English professional golfer who played in the late 19th century into the early 20th century. He was a consistent performer in the Open Championships where he posted a number of top-20 finishes. His best result came in 1907 when he finished 13th.
