Georgia's 4th State Senate district is located in the southeastern part of Georgia, including all of Effingham, Bulloch, Evans, and Candler Counties, as well as part of Chatham County. [1] It is currently represented by Billy Hickman, a Republican from Statesboro. [2]
Georgia is a state in the Southeastern region of the United States. It borders Tennessee to the northwest, North Carolina to the north, South Carolina to the northeast, Florida to the south, and Alabama to the west. Of the 50 United States, Georgia is the 24th-largest by area and 8th most populous. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, its 2023 estimated population was 11,029,227. Atlanta, a global city, is both the state's capital and its largest city. The Atlanta metropolitan area, with a population of more than 6.3 million people in 2023, is the 6th most populous metropolitan area in the United States and contains about 57% of Georgia's entire population. Other major metropolitan areas in the state include Augusta, Savannah, Columbus, and Macon. Georgia has 100 miles (160 km) of coastline along the Atlantic Ocean.
Muscogee County is a county located on the central western border of the U.S. state of Georgia named after the Muscogee that originally inhabited the land with its western border with the state of Alabama that is formed by the Chattahoochee River. As of the 2020 census, the population was 206,922. Its county seat and only city is Columbus, with which it has been a consolidated city-county since the beginning of 1971.
Weston is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States, just west of Fort Lauderdale. It is 31 miles (50 km) to the northwest of Miami and part of the Miami metropolitan area. The population was 68,107 at the 2020 census.

Hickman is a city in and the county seat of Fulton County, Kentucky, United States. Located on the Mississippi River, the city had a population of 2,365 at the 2020 U.S. census and is classified as a home rule-class city. Hickman is part of the Union City micropolitan area.

The district is represented by Republican Andrew Clyde, who succeeded fellow Republican Doug Collins. The district is mostly rural and exurban in character, though it stretches into Hall and Gwinnett counties on Atlanta's northern fringe.
David James Shafer is an American politician who is a former chairman of the Georgia Republican Party. From 2002 to 2019, Shafer was a Republican member of the Georgia State Senate from Senate District 48, a suburban district located north of Atlanta that includes portions of Fulton County and Gwinnett County.
School District #160 is a consolidated public school district located predominantly in Lancaster County but also extending into Gage County, Nebraska, United States. It serves a number of small communities including Roca, Hickman, Firth, Cortland, Panama, Princeton, Holland, Cheney, and Rokeby. The school district was founded on June 1, 1964, and was named in honor of Senator George William Norris, who represented the state of Nebraska in the United States Senate from 1913 to 1943. The school district currently enrolls just under 2000 students in grades K-12.

Georgia's 14th congressional district is a United States congressional district in Georgia. The district is represented by Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene. Located in Northwest Georgia, it was created following the 2010 census, when the state gained a 14th seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index of R+22, it is tied with the 9th district for the most Republican congressional district in Georgia.

The 2022 Georgia gubernatorial election took place on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Georgia. Incumbent Republican governor Brian Kemp won re-election to a second term, defeating Democratic nominee Stacey Abrams in a rematch. Abrams conceded on election night. The primary occurred on May 24, 2022. Kemp was sworn in for a second term on January 9, 2023.
Michigan Proposal 18-2 was a ballot initiative approved by voters in Michigan as part of the 2018 United States elections. The proposal was created in preparation of the 2020 United States Census, to move control of redistricting from the state legislature to an independent commission. The commission consists of thirteen members selected randomly by the secretary of state: four affiliated with Democrats, four affiliated with Republicans, and five independents. Any Michigan voter can apply to be a commissioner, as long as they have not been, in the last six years, a politician or lobbyist. Proponents argued that Michigan's current districts are gerrymandered, giving an unfair advantage to one political party. Opponents argued that the process would give the secretary of state too much power over redistricting, and that the people on the commission would be unlikely to understand principles of redistricting. The proposal was approved with 61.28% of the vote.
The 2022 United States House of Representatives elections in Missouri were held on November 8, 2022, to elect the eight U.S. representatives from the state of Missouri, one from each of the state's congressional districts. The elections coincided with other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate, and various state and local elections.
Tennessee's 1st Senate district is one of 33 districts in the Tennessee Senate. It has been represented by Republican Adam Lowe since 2023. Before 2022 redistricting, the district was mainly located where the current 9th district is now.
Tennessee's 23rd Senate district is one of 33 districts in the Tennessee Senate. It has been represented by Republican Kerry Roberts since 2023. Prior to redistricting, Roberts had represented the 25th district which was located in the same spot as the current 23rd district.
Several elections took place in the U.S. state of Georgia in 2022. The general election was held on November 8, 2022. A runoff election for one of Georgia's seats in the United States Senate was held on December 6, 2022. The runoff was scheduled because none of the candidates for Senate received 50% of the statewide vote in the general election. In addition to the Senate seat, all of Georgia's seats in the United States House of Representatives were up for election. Also up for election were all of Georgia's executive officers and legislative seats, as well as one seat on the Georgia Public Service Commission. The Republican Party decisively won every single statewide office in Georgia except for the Federal Senate race which narrowly went Democratic in 2022.
The 2024 United States House of Representatives elections will be held on November 5, 2024, as part of the 2024 United States elections, to elect representatives from all 435 congressional districts across each of the 50 U.S. states, as well as 6 non-voting delegates from the District of Columbia and the inhabited U.S. territories. Special elections may also be held on various dates throughout 2024. Numerous other federal, state, and local elections, including the U.S. presidential election and elections to the Senate, will also be held on this date. The winners of this election will serve in the 119th United States Congress, with seats apportioned among the states based on the 2020 United States census.
