The Gyeongbu Line (Gyeongbuseon) is a railway line in South Korea and is considered to be the most important and one of the oldest ones in the country. It was constructed in 1905, connecting Seoul with Busan via Suwon, Daejeon, and Daegu. It is by far the most heavily travelled rail line in South Korea.
The Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway is an expressway in South Korea. Numbered 45, it was first constructed in three parts: connecting Yeoju to Chungju and Sangju to Gimcheon and Hyeonpung to Masan. The part of the expressway between Chungju and Sangju was completed at the end of 2004, with the last remaining section being that between Gimcheon and Hyeonpung. The Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway Branch Line is route number 451 and connects Hyeonpung to N. Daegu.
The Gyeongbuk Line is a railway line serving North Gyeongsang Province in South Korea. The line runs from Gimcheon on the Gyeongbu Line via Sangju, Jeomchon, and Yecheon to Yeongju on the Jungang Line.

Apo-eup is an eup in Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do, central South Korea. It has an area of 53.48 km². Although it contains several low peaks, the land of Apo-eup also contains a great deal of flat and fertile floodplain; local agriculture is dominated by rice cultivation. The small Gamcheon river runs along the eastern border. As of January 2005, the population is 8,799, and has fallen somewhat since 1995. It is divided among 30 ri.
The Mugunghwa-ho is a class of train operated by Korail, main railway operator of South Korea. Mugunghwa trains are Korail's slowest tier of trains stopping at a number of towns and villages, and operating over a number of lines that are not served by other trains. Journey times are generally well over double that of KTX trains and 25% longer than express trains. In 1980, new express train, named 우등, was introduced. Soon it was renamed as Mugunghwa-ho, which was a name of an express train operated in the 1960s. Since train classes below Mugunghwa had been retired, thus Mugunghwa trains are now the cheapest class of trains to operate cross-country. Along rural lines such as the Gyeongbuk Line, they remain the only class of passenger train operating. They are the only trains to stop at many stations not served by Saemaeul-ho or KTX trains. Mugunghwa are built to accommodate large numbers of standing passengers, and frequently have many more standees than sitting passengers.
The Gyeongbu high-speed railway, also known as Gyeongbu HSR, is South Korea's first high-speed rail line from Seoul to Busan. KTX high-speed trains operate three sections of the line: on April 1, 2004, the first between a junction near Geumcheon-gu Office station, Seoul and a junction at Daejeonjochajang station north of Daejeon, and a second between a junction at Okcheon station, southeast of Daejeon, and a junction near Jicheon station, north of Daegu entered service; then on November 1, 2010, the third section, between a junction west of Daegu and Busan became operational. The missing gaps across the urban areas of Daejeon and Daegu were in construction for an expected opening in 2014, separate tracks into Seoul Station were also planned. The temporary ends of the three sections were connected to the parallel conventional Gyeongbu Line by tracks that will serve as interconnector branches upon the completion of the entire line. On August 1, 2015, construction on urban areas of Daejeon and Daegu were completed; all the sections of HSR line were connected.
Gimcheon (Gumi) station is a Korea Train Express station on the Gyeongbu KTX Line in Gimcheon City, North Gyeongsang Province, servicing Gimcheon and the nearby industrial center of Gumi. Services began on November 1, 2010. Only select KTX trains stop at Gimcheon (Gumi).

Gimcheon Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass is a South Korean professional women's volleyball team. The team was founded in 1970 and became fully professional in 2005. They are based in Gimcheon and are members of the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO). Their home arena is Gimcheon Gymnasium in Gimcheon.

The Intercity Train eXpress-Saemaeul abbreviated as ITX-Saemaeul (Korean: ITX-새마을) is a class of train operated by Korail, the national railroad of South Korea, it was introduced on May 12, 2014, to replace the Saemaeul-ho. The new ITX-Saemaeul trains have a faster average speed of 150 kilometers per hour. The name was taken from the Saemaul Undong after a public competition to determine the new train's name.

The Jungbunaeryuk Line is a rail line under construction from Bubal to Mungyeong. Construction started in November 2015. The line opened in December 2021 between Bubal on the Gyeonggang Line & Chungju on the Chungbuk Line. The KTX line is expected to be extended in December 2024 from Chungju to Mungyeong. Another extension from Mungyeong to Gimcheon was approved in December 2022.
The Nambunaeryuk Line is a planned high-speed rail line between Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province and Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province.
