Ginevra Lubrano (born 22 June 1993), known professionally by the mononym Ginevra, is an Italian singer-songwriter.
Raised between Collegno, Grugliasco and Turin, after moving to Milan in 2012, she graduated in singing from the CPM Music Institute [1] and then graduated in economics from the University of Milan. [2] [3]
She made her recording debut in November 2018 with the release of her first single, "Forest", [4] which preceded the release of her first EP, Ruins, released in March 2019 and produced by Milanese composer and producer Francesco Fugazza, [5] to which the song "Lips" was added. [6] [7] In May, she participated in the tenth edition of the Musica da bere competition, where she received the KeepOn Live special mention, [8] which led to her first performance in Rome in September as part of the "Na cosetta estiva" event. [9] Her new single, "Burning", was released that same month. [10]
On 26 June 2020, her second EP Metropoli was released, where the singer-songwriter from Turin sang in Italian. [11] [12] The EP includes the song of the same name, along with the songs "Mostri" [13] and "Sconosciuti". [14] In September, at the Verona Arena, she participated in a duet with Ghemon together with other artists at the Heroes concert event broadcast in streaming. [15] In October of the same year, she was selected among the twenty semi-finalists of the fourteenth edition of the Sanremo Giovani singing competition with the song "Vortice", [16] failing to qualify among the finalists and have the chance to participate in the 71st Sanremo Music Festival in the "New Proposals" section in March 2021. [17]
Together with Mecna, she composed the song "Soli", released as a single on 11 February 2021, which featured Ginevra and Ghemon and focused on the relationship with loneliness. [18] She wrote the song "Glicine", with which Noemi participated in the Sanremo Music Festival 2021, and she also wrote several songs on the Roman singer-songwriter's album Metamorfosi . [19] That same year, she performed at the Primo Maggio concert in Rome. Summer 2021 saw her perform at the MI AMI Festival, Linecheck Festival and Liverpool Sound City. [20]
On 4 February 2022, she participated in the 72nd Sanremo Music Festival on the fourth evening dedicated to covers, duetting with the competing group La Rappresentante di Lista, along with Cosmo and Margherita Vicario, singing a cover of The Ronettes' "Be My Baby". [21] On 14 October of the same year, she released her first studio album Diamanti, which included the songs "Club", "Briciole", [22] "Anarchici" [23] and "Torino". [24]
Her new single "My Baby!" was released on 15 November 2024, [25] followed by the single "Cupido" on 13 December [26] and the single "30 anni" on 17 January 2025. [27] The three unreleased songs preceded the release of her second studio album, Femina, on 24 January. [28] On 18 April the single "Spacco tutto" was released, featuring Meg, and is included in the digital reissue of the album. [29]
