The Flaming Lips are an American psychedelic rock band formed in 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The band currently consists of Wayne Coyne, Steven Drozd, Derek Brown, Matt Duckworth Kirksey and Nicholas Ley. Coyne and Drozd have remained the band's only consistent members since 1991, with Coyne being the only remaining founding member following the departure of bassist and keyboardist Michael Ivins in 2021.

The Cribs are a British indie rock band originally from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, that formed in 2001. The band consists of twins Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman. They were subsequently joined by ex-The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr who was an official member of the group from 2008 until 2011.
Summer Sonic, is an annual music festival held on one weekend in August simultaneously in both Chiba and Osaka, Japan. The festival features revolving lineups performing one day in Osaka then performing the next day in Chiba and vice-versa. The lineup often features major international acts in addition to Japanese artists from major and independent record companies.
The Joiners is a small music venue in a former pub on St Mary Street, St Mary's, Southampton, England. It has played host to many up-and-coming bands. The pub started having live acts in the back room in 1968. The maximum capacity is 200 people.
A silent disco or silent rave is an event where people dance to music listened to on wireless headphones. Rather than using a speaker system, music is broadcast via a radio transmitter with the signal being picked up by wireless headphone receivers worn by the participants. Those without the headphones hear no music, giving the effect of a room full of people dancing to nothing.
The Dykeenies are a Scottish indie rock band from Cumbernauld, formed in 2005. The group consists of brothers Brian Henderson and Andrew Henderson, along with Steven Ramsay and John Kerr. Since their formation, they have released one studio album, Nothing Means Everything, accompanied by three singles. After a worldwide tour, the band began work on their second album, which was released in October 2011. They broke up in January 2012, before re-forming for two performances in 2017. The Dykeenies released their EP 'I Wanted To Show Her All The Beautiful Things in the World' on 11 May 2018. The title of the 2018 EP was taken from Bret Ellis-Easton's 'American Psycho'.
Southbound was an arts, camping and music festival. A variety of Australian and international artists performed at this event. The festival occurred annually around New Year at the Sir Stewart Bovell Park in Busselton, Western Australia.
Live from Abbey Road is a 12-part, one-hour performance series/documentary that began filming its first season during 2006 at Abbey Road Studios in London. Season 2 was filmed between 2007 and 2008, season 3 was filmed in 2009 and Season 4 was filmed in 2011. The series features a total of 128 musical artists to date -- usually two or three per show, performing up to five songs per session. The sessions are recorded without a live audience. Shot in HD video with the occasional use of 35 mm lenses, the producers have sought to record performances which "look like a movie and sound like a record".
The UK Festival Awards are awarded annually, with various categories for all aspects of festivals that have taken place in the UK, and one category for European festivals. The Awards were first established in 2004 by Steve Jenner and his team at Virtual Festivals.com. They are voted for by the public via the UK Festival Awards website. To ensure fairness, the votes are weighted to take into account the event capacity.
INmusic festival is Croatia's biggest international contemporary music open-air festival. The festival is held annually in late June in Zagreb and takes place on the Isle of Youth in the middle of Zagreb's Lake Jarun. The festival was started in 2006 and is usually held over three days. It includes several genre-specific stages with internationally renowned indie rock, heavy metal and electronica artists. In 2008 The Times included INmusic among the top 20 European summer festivals, and it made the CNN's 2013 list of 50 greatest summer music festivals in the world. NME has reported from the festival since 2015 and hailed the festival as "the hidden festival gem of Europe" as well as listing it among the world's top festival since 2017.
Bestival 2010 was the seventh installment of the Bestival, a boutique music festival held at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight. The festival, organized by Rob and Josie Da Bank and their crew, was held over the weekend between 9 September and 12 September 2010. It was voted the best major UK festival in the UK festival awards. This is the first time it has won the major festival award, rather than the medium-sized festival award. Each year a fancy dress theme is announced; 2010 was the year of the fantastic and so festival goers dressed in fantasy outfits. The festival boasts its own radio station called Bestival Radio. The station was broadcast on-site, played music and kept listeners camping at the festival up-to-date on news and events over the weekend. The first acts were announced on 4 February.
The Vaccines are an English indie rock band, formed in West London in 2010. The band currently consists of Justin Hayward-Young, Árni Árnason, Timothy Lanham and Yoann Intonti (drums).
North by Northeast is an annual music and arts festival held each June in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The festival's main focus is live music, particularly emerging talent. Acts that have had break out appearances at NXNE at small venues early in their careers include: Lizzo, Daniel Caesar (2016), Run the Jewels (2014), Lumineers (2012), Grimes (2011), Gary Clark Jr. (2007), The Arkells (2007), Feist (2004), Billy Talent (1999) and thousands more. In its return post-COVID, the festival embraced its roots as a discovery event, programming exclusively in Toronto's live music venues, presenting over 200 of the world's best emerging acts bands in 20 venues over five nights from June 14–18, 2022. Festival passes were low priced and bands were not charged a fee to apply. The 2023 Festival takes place June 13–17. Complete festival passes cost $25, all shows are $15 at the door without a pass.

They were considered part of the B-Town movement, along with bands such as Swim Deep, Jaws and Superfood.
Live Music Festival is a music festival which has been taking place in Kraków, Poland since 2006. The main organizer of the festival is the concert agency Alter Art, and until 2014 the festival's principal sponsor was the Coca-Cola Company. In April 2014, it was announced that the festival has a new sponsor, and the next edition will be organized in Summer 2015, after a one-year break.
