Gooding High School is classified as a 3A school (enrollment between 320 and 639) by the Idaho High School Activities Association. It currently competes in the Canyon Conference against Kimberly High School, Buhl High School, Filer High School (Idaho) [6]

The Senator is Gooding High School's mascot, a reference to the town's namesake, Frank R. Gooding, and his service as a United States Senator from Idaho in the early 20th century. School colors are red, black and white. [6]

Stonko Sidney "Stan" Pavkov was an American football player and coach. A native of Gooding, Idaho, he played college football for Idaho. After graduating from Idaho, he played professional football for the minor-league Cincinnati Bengals and Paterson Panthers in 1938. He then played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 1939 and 1940 season. He appeared in 11 NFL games as a guard and tackle.
