Gopala Gopala is the feature film soundtrack of the 2015 Telugu satirical drama film of the same name. Anup Rubens composed the soundtrack, which was released on 25 December 2014. It consists of 4 songs whose lyrics were penned by Chandrabose, Sirivennela Sitaramasastri and Anantha Sreeram.

Development

In mid-April 2014, Sohail Sen was selected to compose the music for the film which was his Telugu debut. [1] He also met the makers in Hyderabad for the music sittings later. [2] But Anoop Rubens replaced him in June 2014 as the music director of the film. The makers said that he composed and recorded a song before the launch of the film and it was also said that all the songs would be recorded in a week's time from the launch. [3] The film's soundtrack was reported to feature 3 songs in total and Pawan Kalyan was reported to appear in two of them. A unique audio launch was planned by the makers which was different from routine events. [4] Kailash Kher completed recording for a special song in the soundtrack on 12 December 2014. [5] Apart from the single track Bhaje Bhaaje written by Anantha Sreeram, the lyrics for the other two songs were penned by Sirivennela Sitaramasastri and Chandrabose; Sonu Nigam was the other playback singer apart from Kailash Kher and Haricharan. Release

Lahari Music acquired the film's audio rights along with Drushyam for an amount of 80 lakh (US$100,000). [7] In mid November 2014, the soundtrack album was announced to be released in the end of November 2014. [8] The release date was confirmed as 5 December 2014 in late November 2014. [9] But it was postponed later to 11 December 2014. [10] The song Bhaje Bhaaje sung by Dhanunjay and Haricharan and penned by Anantha Sreeram was released on 15 December 2014 as a single track. [11] The song was listened by 1 lakh viewers in YouTube within 10 hours of its release and received 2,500 likes. [12] The audio launch event was held on 25 December 2014 at Ramanaidu Studios in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad. [13]

Reception

The soundtrack received positive reviews. Sasidhar A. S. of The Times of India rated the album 3 out of 5 and selected "Enduko Enduko" as the best song of the soundtrack. [14] Behindwoods rated the album 2.75 out of 5 and stated "Gopala Gopala is a feel good album from Anup Rubens which works like a charm". [15] IndiaGlitz rated the album 3.25 out of 5 and called it "An album that has two hummable and enjoyable songs, it has lyrics that are for the discerning as well as the casual listener". [16]

Lovely is a 2012 Telugu-language romantic comedy film written and directed by B. Jaya. The film was produced by B. A. Raju and Anup Rubens has composed the music for the film. The film stars Aadi and Shanvi Srivastava in the lead roles. The film was a joint production between R. R. Movie Makers and RJ Cinemas. Alongside direction, both editing and screenplay were also handled by B. Jaya. The movie was released on 30 March 2012 and became a hit at the box office. It was dubbed into Hindi as Vijay Meri Hai and remade in Odia in 2019 as Selfish Dil.

Attarintiki Daredi is a 2013 Indian Telugu-language comedy drama film written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Produced by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Reliance Entertainment, the film stars Pawan Kalyan, Samantha and Pranitha Subhash. Nadhiya, Boman Irani and Brahmanandam feature in supporting roles. The film score and soundtrack album were composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Prasad Murella was the cinematographer.

Pawan Kalyan is an Indian actor, screenwriter, stunt coordinator, philanthropist and politician. His film works are predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is the youngest brother of popular actor Chiranjeevi. Pawan Kalyan made his acting debut in the 1996 Telugu film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. His next four films were all box-office successes namely Gokulamlo Seeta (1997), Suswagatham (1998), Tholi Prema (1998), and Thammudu (1999). Kalyan's subsequent films Puri Jagannadh's Badri (2000) and S. J. Suryah's Kushi (2001) were box office successes. He made his directorial debut with Johnny (2003), which was a box office failure. Trivikram Srinivas's Attarintiki Daredi (2013) was an industry hit and got him back to the highest level, yet again. His film Gopala Gopala (2015) with Venkatesh was a moderate success while Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Katamarayudu, and Trivikram Srinivas's Agnyaathavaasi received negative reviews. Vakeel Saab (2021), the masala-laced adaptation of the courtroom drama Pink (2016), received positive reviews. His next film, Bheemla Nayak (2022), was a blockbuster and ended up becoming the fourth highest-grossing Telugu film of 2022.
