Gornyak-UGMK are a Russian Ice Hockey team based in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Russia.

History

Founded in 2012, they play in the Supreme Hockey League having joined the league in 2017, and are the farm team of the Kontinental Hockey League's Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Prior to joining the VHL, the Miners were a junior team playing in the National Junior Hockey League, where they are two-time champions, having won the Regions Cup in both 2016, and 2017. [1] Gornyak had also made the Regions Cup final in 2015, however lost to Western Conference champions HK Rossosh. [2] In addition to becoming league champions, during their time in the NJHL, Gornyak won the Eastern Conference three times. [1] For the 2021-22 season, Avtomobilist relocated the team from Uchaly to Verkhnyaya Pyshma. [3]

The team is sponsored by Uchaly Mining and Metallurgical Combine. [4]

The team was founded in 1986 after the construction of the Slough Ice Arena in Montem Lane in Slough and joined the first division of the British League. With the help of Gary Stefan who had previously been with Streatham Redskins, the Slough Jets were formed.

Peter Holland (ice hockey) Canadian ice hockey player

Peter Holland is a Canadian professional ice hockey centreman who is currently playing for Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He most recently played for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Nicknamed Pistol Pete, Holland was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round, 15th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, and made his NHL debut for the Ducks during the 2011–12 season.

National Junior Hockey League

The National Junior Hockey League (NMHL) is the second level of the Junior Hockey League, the KHL's junior ice hockey league. The B division was established in 2011 and the inaugural season was the 2011–12 season. A promotion and relegation system was in place between the MHL and MHL-B, where the bottom 2 teams at the end of the season of MHL were relegated to MHL-B and the 2 best MHL-B teams are promoted to MHL.

The 2012 AIHL season is the 13th season of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL). It ran from 28 April 2012 until 26 August 2012, with the Goodall Cup finals following on the 1 and 2 September. The Newcastle North Stars won the H Newman Ried Trophy after finishing the regular season with the most points. The Melbourne Ice won the Goodall Cup for the third year in a row after defeating the North Stars in the final.

The CHL Import Draft is an annual event in which every team in the Canadian Hockey League may select the rights to eligible import players. An import is classified as a player who does not have residency status in either Canada or the United States. The draft is conducted online, during the last week of June, or first week of July, following the NHL Entry Draft. Teams from the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, systematically take turns making selections in reverse order of the team's standings in the CHL from the previous season. Teams can have a maximum of two imports which may only be obtained through the draft, and teams must have an open roster space for an import player before a draft selection is made, otherwise they must pass on the opportunity. The draft is open to all position players, but the Canadian Hockey League banned the drafting of European goalkeepers from 2014 to 2017. Since the first Import Draft in 1992, over 1,700 players have been selected, with many later going onto the National Hockey League. The majority of imported players come from the Czech Republic, Russia, and Slovakia.

Sergei Petrovich Mogilnikov is a former Soviet and Kazakhstani professional ice hockey player and currently an ice hockey coach. He is the former head coach of Gornyak Rudny, Barys Astana, Kazakhmys Satpaev and Kazzinc-Torpedo.

Samu Kasperi Kapanen is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Biryusa Krasnoyarsk ZhHL ice hockey team in Krasnoyarsk

Biryusa Krasnoyarsk are a Russian ice hockey team in the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL). They play in Krasnoyarsk, the capital of Krasnoyarsk Krai in Siberia, at the Platinum Arena Krasnoyarsk and use Fakel Ice Palace as a secondary arena. The team was founded in 1987 as Lokomotiv Krasnoyarsk and was called Lokomotiv-Energiya Krasnoyarsk during 2008 to 2012.
