The governor of Campeche, officially Constitutional Governor of the Free and Sovereign State of Campeche (Spanish : Gobernador Constitucional del Estado de Campeche), is in charge the Executive branch of the State Government.

Term

Governors are elected to serve for 6 years and they can not hold the title under any circumstance ever again. The governor takes office on the 15th day of September of the same electoral year and ends on September 14 six years after.

He was a senator of the LXII and LXIII Legislatures of the Mexican Congress and also served as a federal deputy between 2000 and 2003. He was a candidate for the governorship of Puebla for the coalition Juntos Haremos Historia—formed by Morena, the Labor Party (PT) and the Social Encounter Party (PES)—for the state elections of 2018 and the 2019 special election.

Governors were to be elected in the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Sinaloa, Sonora, Campeche, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala, and Zacatecas. Aristóteles Sandoval assumed office as Governor of the State of Jalisco on 1 March 2013, and his term ended on 5 December 2018. The governor has the authority to nominate members of his Cabinet of the State of Jalisco, as per the Ley Orgánica del Poder Ejecutivo del Estado de Jalisco, Article 4, Section V.
