Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny, also Grace Kwiyucwiny, is a Ugandan politician who serves as the State Minister for Northern Uganda in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. [1] She also served as the woman Member of Parliament representing the Zombo District. [2]
She was born in Zombo District, West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda. She attended Lower Zombo Primary School and Warr Girls School for her Uganda Certificate of Education(UCE), before transferring to Tororo Girls School for her Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education(UACE). She studied at Makerere University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and a Master of Business Administration. [3]
She is an active community leader in her district, especially among women. She previously served as the chairperson of Nebbi women's community. She contested for the Nebbi Women's seat in parliament before and had lost. She contested again in Zombo District, after the two districts split and she won in 2011. [2] She was re-elected in 2016. She lost in 2020 polls for Women's representative in the Parliament of Uganda for Zombo District. [3] She was the first Woman Constituency Member of Parliament that Zombo District elected, since it was carved out of Nebbi District in 2009. [2] On 6 June 2016, she was appointed State Minister for Northern Uganda. [4]
One of the tasks she was handed as State Minister for Northern Uganda, was her selection to the committee to investigate the alleged plunder of Zoka Forest in Adjumani District. The four-person team, was selected by Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, and is chaired by Mary Karooro Okurut, the Cabinet Minister for General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister. Other members are Betty Amongi, the Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development and Sam Cheptoris, the Minister for Water and Environment. [5]
Janet Kainembabazi Museveni is a Ugandan politician who has been the First Lady of Uganda since 1986. She is married to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, with whom she has four children. She has been Cabinet Minister of Education and Sports since 6 June 2016, although her own education record is questioned. She previously served as Minister for Karamoja Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet from 27 May 2011 until 6 June 2016. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament representing Ruhaama County in Ntungamo District, between 2011 and 2016. She published her autobiography, My Life's Journey, in 2011.
Aggrey Siryoyi Awori was a Ugandan economist, politician and Olympic hurdler, who served as Minister for Information and Communications Technology in the Cabinet of Uganda from 16 February 2009 to 27 May 2011. Prior to that, he represented Samia-Bugwe North, Busia District in the Ugandan Parliament from 2001 until 2006. Awori was an outspoken opposition member of parliament for the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) political party. In 2007, he abandoned the UPC and joined the ruling National Resistance Movement.
John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, SC is a Ugandan politician who served as the ninth Prime Minister of Uganda from 24 May 2011 to 19 September 2014. He played an instrumental role in Uganda's protracted liberation struggle from several tyrannical governments (1972-1986) and is a founding member of the National Resistance Movement, the ruling political party in Uganda.
Ruhakana Rugunda is a Ugandan physician and politician who was Prime Minister of Uganda from 2014 to 2021. He held a long series of cabinet posts under President Yoweri Museveni beginning in 1986. He served as Uganda's Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1994 to 1996, and Minister of Internal Affairs from 2003 to 2009. Subsequently, he was Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2009 to 2011 and Minister of Health from 2013 to 2014.
Maria Emily Lubega Mutagamba was a Ugandan economist and politician. She was the minister of tourism, wildlife and antiquities in the Ugandan Cabinet from 15 August 2012 until 6 June 2016.
Simon Giw D'Ujanga is a Ugandan electrical engineer and politician. He is the current State Minister for Energy in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 1 June 2006. In the cabinet reshuffle of 16 February 2009, and that of 27 May 2011, he retained his cabinet post. On account of his ministerial position, he is also an ex-offico Member of Parliament (MP).
Fred Mandir Jachan Omach, commonly known as Fred Omach is a Ugandan banker and politician. He is the current chairman of the board of directors at Uganda National Roads Authority, since 14 March 2017.
Irene Nafuna Muloni is a Ugandan electrical engineer, businesswoman and politician and also a Senior Presidential Advisor to Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. She was previously Cabinet Minister for Energy and Minerals in the Ugandan Cabinet until December 2019, serving from 27 May 2011. She retained her position in the new cabinet after the 2016 national elections. She served as the elected Member of Parliament for Bulambuli District Women's Representative, from 2011 until 2016 when she lost her seat to Independent candidate; Sarah Wekomba. She again regained her seat after the 2021 general elections.
Evelyn Anite Kajik, commonly known as Evelyn Anite, is a Ugandan journalist and politician. She is the State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization in the Ugandan Cabinet since 6 June 2016. Previously, she served as State Minister for Youth. She was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Ronald Kibuule, who was appointed State Minister for Water Resources. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament for Koboko Municipality, in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda, a position she occupied from 2011 until 2021. In the 2020 National Resistance Movement (NRM) primary elections, Anite lost to Dr Charles Ayume, the son of former speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, the late Francis Ayume.
Betty Amongi Akena,, commonly known as Betty Amongi, is a Ugandan politician. She is the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development in the Cabinet of Uganda, as of 9 June 2021. Previously, she served as the Cabinet Minister of Kampala Capital City and before that, from 6 June 2016 until 14 December 2019, as the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development in Uganda's cabinet. She is also the incumbent member of parliament representing the Oyam South Constituency in the 11th Parliament.
Joyce Morikualso calledJoyce Kaducu, is a Ugandan pediatrician, academic and politician. In the 2021-26 cabinet, she is State Minister for Primary education, having succeeded Rosemary Seninde.
Joy Kabatsi, also Joy Kabatsi Kafura, is a Ugandan lawyer, farmer and politician. As of January 2020, she was the State Minister of Transport in the Cabinet of Uganda, effective December 2019. She belongs to National Resistance Movement political party.
Mary Goretti Kitutu, also Mary Goretti Kitutu Kimono is a Ugandan academic, politician and environmentalist. She was appointed Minister for Karamoja Affairs on 8 June 2021, replacing John Byabagambi. She was the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, in the Ugandan Cabinet, from 14 December 2019 to 8 June 2021. Before that, from 10 June 2016, until 14 December 2019, she served as the State Minister for the Environment in the Cabinet of Uganda. Dr Mary Kitutu concurrently serves as the elected Manafwa District Women's Representative, in the 10th Parliament.
Peace Regis Mutuuzo is a Ugandan politician who serves as the Women representative for Bunyangabu District. She is the Minister of State for Gender and Culture in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. In 2021, she was re elected into the eleventh Uganda Parliament.
Kania Mario Obiga is a Ugandan politician. He is the State Minister for Internal Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position of 6 June 2016. He concurrently serves as the elected representative of Terego County East, Arua District, in the 10th Parliament of Uganda (2016–2021).

Judith Nalule Nabakooba is a Ugandan politician and former policewoman. She is currently the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 8 June 2021.
St. Aloysius College Nyapea is a boys-only boarding middle and high school located in Zombo District in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda. In the 1960s and 1970s the school was a seat of academic excellence. However, it fell on hard times in subsequent years, and as of 2018, was "a shadow of its former self. As from 2019 the former students of the college under the umbrella organisation, St. Aloysius College Nyapea Old Boys Association have introduced both infrastructure development initiatives and students busary schemes aimed at helping the under privileged and poor prospective students with strong academic interest to be sponsored for secondary education. As of 2023, more than 70 students have been enrolled under the scheme. The old boys involvement has led to the college enrollment more than doubling. They are now working with other institutions and people who believe that education is a potent tool in improving people's quality of life to support more prospective students while being cognizant of the social responsibility they bear to the surrounding communities as well".
Robinah Nabbanja is a Ugandan educator and politician who serves as the Prime Minister of Uganda, having been nominated to the office on 8 June 2021. She was formally confirmed by the Parliament on 21 June 2021. She replaced Ruhakana Rugunda, who was named to the post of Envoy For Special Duties In The Office Of The President of Uganda. She is the first female prime minister of Uganda.
