Graham John Zellick CBE KC FRSA (born 12 August 1948 [1] ) is a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of London, serving from 1997 to 2003. He was previously Principal of Queen Mary and Westfield College, London [2] from 1991 to 1998. [1]
The son of R. H. Zellick and B. Sabovinsky, he was educated at Christ's College in Finchley, north London, before going to Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he obtained a MA and a PhD, and then to Stanford Law School, where he was a Ford Foundation Fellow from 1970 to 1971. [1]
Professor Zellick served as Electoral Commissioner (2001–06) and was for nearly 20 years an academic lawyer at QMUL, where he was Head of the Department of Law, Dean of the Faculty of Laws, Professor of Public Law and Drapers' Professor of Law. He was also Chairman of the Committee of Heads of UK Law Schools and a member of the Lord Chancellor's Committee on Legal Education.
He was Editor of Public Law and founding Editor of European Human Rights Reports, as well as a member of the Data Protection Tribunal, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel, the Competition Appeal Tribunal, the Lord Chancellor's Advisory Committee and a member of the Legal Aid and the Criminal Justice Council. Also appointed a magistrate, he is a qualified barrister and Master of the Bench of the Middle Temple.
Zellick is an Honorary Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, a Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies and an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences. An Emeritus Professor of Law of the University of London, Visiting Professor of Law of Queen Mary and Honorary Professor of Law of the University of Birmingham, he has also been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music and a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute. Zellick was, in 2010, a Distinguished Visiting Fellow to the New Zealand Law Foundation. [2]

In 1975 he married Jennifer Temkin CBE (Professor of Law of the University of Sussex, 1992–2012, now Emerita); they have one son and one daughter. [1] [3]
Graham John Virgo is an English legal academic, barrister and university administrator, who is Professor of English Private Law at the University of Cambridge and Master of Downing College, Cambridge. He is frequently cited in the English courts and those of other common law jurisdictions, and known for his contributions to the law of restitution and the teaching of law. He was previously Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Cambridge and assumed the role of Master of Downing College, Cambridge, on 1 October 2023.

Charles Euston Nurse was Archdeacon of Carlisle and a Residentiary Canon at Carlisle Cathedral from 1958 until 1970 and 1973 respectively.
David Walter Phillipson FBA FSA is a British archaeologist specializing in African archaeology. His most notable work has been in Ethiopia, particularly on the archaeology of Aksumite sites. He was curator of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, University of Cambridge from 1981 to 2006, and Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, 1988–2006.
Sir Frank Hartley was a pharmacist who became Dean of the School of Pharmacy, University of London (1962–76) and later Vice-Chancellor of the university from 1976 to 1978.

Margaret Jean Snowling is a British psychologist, and world-leading expert in language difficulties, including dyslexia. From 2012 to 2022 she was President of St John's College, Oxford and Professor in the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford. Snowling was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2016 for services to science and the understanding of dyslexia. She was born in South Shields.

Thomas Martin Partington, is a British retired legal scholar and barrister. He is Emeritus professor of Law at the University of Bristol.
Eric Sunderland, was a Welsh anthropologist and academic. He served as Principal and then Vice-Chancellor of the University College of North Wales from 1984 to 1995, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales from 1989 to 1991. He had previously taught at the University of Durham, where he had risen to be Professor of Anthropology and Pro Vice-Chancellor. In retirement, he held a number of royal appointments: he served as High Sheriff of Gwynedd for 1998/1999, and as Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd from 2000 to 2006.
Cecil Wilfrid Luscombe "Bill" Bevan, CBE was a Welsh chemist, academic, and academic administrator. He was Principal of University College, Cardiff from 1966 to 1987. He was additionally Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales for two terms: 1973 to 1975 and 1981 to 1983.
Paul Joseph Boyle,, FRSGS, FLSW is a British geographer, academic, and academic administrator. He was the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester between 2014 and 2019. He had been Professor of Human Geography at the University of St Andrews from 1999 to 2014, and Chief Executive of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) from 2010 to 2014. He took over as Vice-Chancellor of Swansea University at the end of the 2018/2019 academic year.
Kay-Tee Khaw, is a Singaporean British physician and academic, specialising in the maintenance of health in later life and the causes and prevention of chronic diseases. She has been Professor of Clinical Gerontology at the University of Cambridge since 1989 and a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge since 1991.
