Grand Prix de Denain is a professional cycle road race held in Denain, France. [1] For 10 years from 2005 the race was organized as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour, before becoming a 1.HC event for the 2016 season. [2] In 2020, the race joined the UCI ProSeries. It is also part of the French Road Cycling Cup. [3]

Thor Hushovd is a Norwegian former professional road bicycle racer. He is known for sprinting and time trialing; Hushovd is a three-time Norwegian national road race champion, and was the winner of the 2010 World Road Race Championships. He was the first Norwegian to lead the Tour de France, and first Scandinavian to win the road race in cycling world road championship. He is also the Scandinavian with the most stage wins in Grand Tours. He is widely considered the greatest Norwegian cyclist of all time. He retired in September 2014.

Nacer Bouhanni is a French former professional racing cyclist, who competed as a professional from 2011 to 2023. A sprinter, he was the winner of the 2012 French National Road Race Championships. Damien Nazon is a former French racing cyclist. He finished in last place in the 1998 Tour de France. Nazon took a total of 33 victories during his career, including stage wins in the Dauphiné Libéré, the Grand Prix du Midi Libre, the Critérium International and the Tour of Belgium. Nazon rode for the Castorama team as a stagiaire in the autumn of 1995, before turning professional with Banesto in 1996. He then rode for Française des Jeux for three years, Bonjour for four and ended his professional career in 2005 after two years with Crédit Agricole.

The 2021 Grand Prix de Denain – Porte du Hainaut was the 62nd edition of the Grand Prix de Denain, a one-day road cycling race in and around Denain in northern France. This edition was the race's first in the UCI ProSeries; the 2020 edition was expected to feature in the inaugural UCI ProSeries but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also the eleventh event of the 2021 French Road Cycling Cup. Additionally, the race was originally due to be held on 18 March but was postponed by COVID-19 precautions.

Since 2018, the race has traversed several sectors of cobbled roads, including one used in Paris–Roubaix. After the 2021 edition was postponed to September by COVID-19 precautions, the race returned to its usual spring timeslot.
