2018 French Road Cycling Cup

The 2018 French Road Cycling Cup was the 27th edition of the French Road Cycling Cup. Compared to the previous season, the same 15 events were held, although the order had changed as the Grand Prix de Denain moved from mid April to mid March and thus became already the second event on the calendar.

Contents

The defending champion from the previous season was Laurent Pichon, he was succeeded by Hugo Hofstetter who did not manage to win one of the events but scored enough points to take the title.

William Bonnet is a French former professional road bicycle racer, who last rode for UCI WorldTeam Groupama–FDJ. In the 2015 Tour de France, Bonnet crashed at full speed on stage 3 near Huy in Belgium after clipping wheels of a rider in front. He has suffered a multiple fracture of the second cervical vertebrae and was rushed to Paris for surgery and placed in an induced coma before any neurological damage was done. Bonnet retired from competition at the end of the 2021 season.

Sébastien Chavanel is a retired French professional road bicycle racer who last rode for UCI ProTeam FDJ. He is a younger brother, by just under 2 years, to fellow professional cyclist Sylvain Chavanel.

The 2016 French Road Cycling Cup was the 25th edition of the French Road Cycling Cup. It was the first edition in which all riders are eligible to score points, whereas in previous seasons only French riders or riders part of French teams were eligible. The team classification however remained a contest between the French teams only. Compared to the previous season, the same 16 events were part of the cup. The defending champion from the last season was Nacer Bouhanni.

The 2022 French Road Cycling Cup is the 31st edition of the French Road Cycling Cup. There are 17 events, with the Mercan'Tour Classic Alpes-Maritimes making its debut in the competition and joining the usual 16 events from previous years.
