Richard Ian CharlesworthAO is an Australian sports coach and former politician. He played first-class cricket for Western Australia and international field hockey for the Kookaburras, winning a silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics and winning the World Cup in 1986. Charlesworth served as a federal member of parliament from 1983 to 1993, representing the Labor Party. After leaving politics, he was appointed coach of the Hockeyroos, leading them to Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2000. Charlesworth later coached the Kookaburras from 2009 to 2014, and has also worked in consulting roles with the New Zealand national cricket team, the Australian Institute of Sport, and the Fremantle Football Club.
The Australia men's national field hockey team is one of the nation's most successful top-level sporting teams. They are the only Australian team in any sport to receive medals at six straight Summer Olympic Games (1992–2012). The Kookaburras placed in the top four in every Olympics between 1980 and 2012; in 2016, the Kookaburras placed sixth. They also won the Hockey World Cup in 1986, 2010 and 2014.

Brian Alan Glencross OAM was an Australian field hockey player and coach. As a member of the Australian National Men's Hockey Team, he won a bronze medal and a silver medal at consecutive Olympic Games – the bronze at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the silver four years later, when Mexico City hosted the Games. As a player, he represented Australia from 1964 to 1974, playing in 93 games. He coached the Australian women's hockey team from 1980 to 1992.
Michael Boyce is a field hockey player from Australia, who was a member of the team that won the silver medal at the 2006 World Hockey Cup.
Colin Batch is a professional international field hockey coach and former international player from Australia. Batch is the head coach of the Australian Men's national hockey team the Kookaburras following his appointment on Tuesday 6 December 2016. He was the head coach of the New Zealand Men's national hockey team the Black Sticks between 2013 and 2016. Prior to this he was the head coach of the Belgium Men's national hockey team the Red Lions from 2010 to 2012. From 2001 to 2008 he was the assistant coach of the most successful Australian Men's national hockey team the Kookaburras in history. During this era Australia broke their Olympic hoodoo winning the gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics as well as bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Silver at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups, Gold at the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games and gold at the 2005 and 2008 Champions Trophies.
Timothy John Willoughby was an Australian rower, yachtsman and stockbroker. He was a five-time Australian national champion rower, a dual Olympian and won a bronze medal in the Australian men's eight at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

In 2010 he was part of the Kookaburras World Cup winning team in Delhi, India and in the same year was named joint Kookaburra of the Year alongside Jamie Dwyer. In December 2011, he was named as one of twenty-eight players to be on the Kookaburras 2012 Olympics squad. This squad will be narrowed in June 2012 to determine who will compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Matthew Butturini is an Australian field hockey player. He is a member of the Australia men's national field hockey team. He won a gold medal at the 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup and a gold medal at the 2011 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy. He was part of the bronze medal-winning Australian team at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Simon Orchard is an Australian field hockey player. He plays for New South Wales in the Australian Hockey League. He is a member of the Australia men's national field hockey team and has won several medals with them including gold at the 2009 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy, gold at the 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup and gold at the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Desmond Abbott is an Australian field hockey midfield/striker from the Northern Territory. He is a member of the Australia men's national field hockey team, having made his debut on 28 January 2007. He won gold medals at the Hockey Champions Trophy in 2008, 2009 and 2010, and a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics and unsuccessfully tried to secure a spot on the team to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Sandra Pisani OAM was an Australian field hockey player who played 85 international games for Australia and was the captain from 1985 to 1987. She competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics and was part of the team that won Australia's first Olympic gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
Kate Ruth "Katie" Allen is an Australian field hockey player. She was a member of the Australia women's national field hockey team that won gold medals at Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games and World Cup in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She is a past FIH World Player of the Year.
