David Ian Bell, OAM [2] (born 11 March 1955 in Melbourne) is a retired field hockey player from Australia, who was part of the team that won the silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
He attended Aquinas College, Perth. [3]
Bell was first selected for Western Australia in 1974 and was a member of the Australia that won a silver medal at 1976 Montreal Olympics. [4] The Australian hockey team boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympics. The Australian team finished fourth at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He captained the Australian team that won the 1986 Hockey World Cup. [4]
He was the head coach of the Australia women's national field hockey team and the Australian Institute of Sport women's program from 2001 to 2004. Major coaching results were:

Charlesworth served as a federal member of parliament from 1983 to 1993, representing the Labor Party. After leaving politics, he was appointed coach of the Hockeyroos, leading them to Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2000. Charlesworth later coached the Kookaburras from 2009 to 2014, and has also worked in consulting roles with the New Zealand national cricket team, the Australian Institute of Sport, and the Fremantle Football Club.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
Sandra Pisani OAM was an Australian field hockey player who played 85 international games for Australia and was the captain from 1985 to 1987. She competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics and was part of the team that won Australia's first Olympic gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
